This work is not only informative but quite beautiful, so it is a must for someone interested in late European manuscripts and/or prayer books. This book not only gives much information concerning the Farnese Hours but reproduces many of the most exceptional parts of this work. Since most persons can not afford a true facsimile, which tends to be about 2000 Euros, this is an affordable substitute, and this book also is the same size as the real Farnese, which enables the reader to appreciate the skill needed to create such beautiful, yet small landscapes and the like. The binding and the paper used are high quality so anyone who can not purchase a true facsimile, should feel confident in buying this book.

This Book of Hours is a beautiful reproduction of the illuminated manuscript. It includes a large number of pages that show the beautiful art work, and wonderful examples of calligraphy. Commentaries and history are abundant. I am thrilled to have this book in my library.
