You know that it isn't going to be like the full size counterparts, seeing as it is travel sized AND so much cheaper, so my expectations for it were right in sync. The flat iron takes a bit longer to heat up, and a little of getting used to if your used to a full size CHI, but it works wonderfully! Sometimes I do the rotate thing to make it curl, and I think it looks better on this one than the full sized one. The hair dryer packs a mean punch for something so small, and it dries my hair in the same amount of time as a full size, but its not as hot so I actually like it better. The sizes are great for travel or gym locker-room use, and I highly recommend them. And they also come with the travel pack and CHI products! Definitely a steal. I can fit my shampoo, conditioner and styling products and comb in the pockets for the gym (but I put my shampoo and conditioner in travel bottles to save room), so it's the perfect travel accessory. I purchased this one THROUGH amazon, not a store on amazon, and I ordered it on a Friday and received it Monday MORNING even though they said 2-3 business days. I was very impressed with both the product and Amazon.

I am very upset with Chi the iron does not get hot enough and it grabs your hair. The size is appropriate. The first dryer I recieved started smoking and I returned it the second one seems ok but makes me nervous to take to europe and have it start smoking it just sounds cheap and unreliable

I ordered this set for my sister for Christmas. She was delighted - the quality is superb and the size of the dryer and flatiron are perfect. The included products are a real bonus. This is a great deal for under a hundred bucks.

I bought this as a gift for my Girlfriend. She started using the hairdryer and within 30seconds the fan disintegrated showering her with shards of sharp plastic! This is outrageous in my opinion. Had she been drying her bangs this could have damged her eyes. I will never again purchase a CHI product and I suggest anyone reading this avoids them as well.

The hair dryer blew up the first time it was plugged in! No warranty when purchased on the internet! What a ripoff, it seems the defective products are sold on the internet without warranty!

I tried two of these and both times, the dryer blew up the very first time I plugged it in. Now I know why the price was too good to be true.

I bought this set for a trip to Europe and was SO excited to find the CHI travel kit at such a good price. I tried it out in the comfort of my 110v home before I left. The straightener did not get very hot, but I figured it was because it was compact. The hair dryer seemed to be okay with the output you would expect for a travel dryer. I was more concerned with having a reasonable hair dryer while traveling in Europe. I really liked the dual voltage offered by the hair dryer. I was relieved to have it--until I got there. I used an adapter and set the dryer to the appropriate voltage, and when I turned it on....NOTHING...it didn't work at all. I tried using it on the lower voltage and with the voltage down converter I had. It barely worked; it couldn't blow out a candle on a birthday cake. I was astonished that the cheap Revlon curling iron I brought worked perfectly with the down converter, but neither of the two CHI travel doo dads functioned at all. Sadly, the best (and most valuable) part of this entire kit was all the small products that came with it: the travel size shampoo, conditioner, silk infusion, and spray made my hair manageable. I feel like I totally wasted money on this set. It took up valuable space in my suitcase. So very, very disappointed.

I purchased the dryer to use when I travel overseas. Finally took on a trip a couple of weeks ago. Worked great the first time I used. The second time I used it worked about halfway through a hair drying session (2 minutes)....then it just died for no reason. What a waste of money.

The CHI travel set I purchased for my daughter as a gift included a hairdryer, flat iron, and sample hair styling products neatly packaged in a durable, hangable, travel case. She serves in the US Army, and in theory, this was the perfect solution for hair care ease during deployments. The two voltage option feature for overseas travel made this gift ideal. The mini flat iron and hair care samples worked well like I would have expected. However, the CHI mini dryer nearly shocked and burned my daughter seconds after turning it on for the first time. Although it was set to the correct voltage setting, it soon made a loud sound, became burning hot, emitted a strong burning odor, and generated visable smoke. This product received great reviews, but for us, it was "armed and dangerous." How did it ever pass the safety inspection?

Worked pretty well, didn't have a whole lot of power but I don't need much for my hair. Then, five months later, it died. I thought that buying a more "premium" brand might mean that it'd be built better and last longer, but alas, it blew up and started smoking.
