I saw these hair dryers in the store a while ago, and thought it was nuts to spend close to a hundred dollars on a hair dryer. There was nothing wrong with my $30 model; my hair dried just fine. This hairdryer, though, works so much better!

A few weeks ago, I went to a spa and while I was drying my hair, I noticed -- it was so conspicuous -- how quiet the dryer was. I finished drying my hair in what seemed like less time, and left the spa feeling like the treatment left my hair softer and smoother than before. I thought it was just the spa environment. The next day I bothered to notice the brand of the hairdryer, and was recognized the "chi" brand.

I came home and bought the hairdryer, knowing I could return it to the store if my experience didn't duplicate the experience I had at the spa.

I still have the hairdryer. The dryer is much more quiet, it dries my hair faster, AND it does leave it smoother (it wasn't the spa products or their water!). I wish I had bought this years ago.... it is so very much worth it.

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. This model is great. Maybe the $200 model is better, but this one is good enough. If I were to lose the dryer tomorrow, I would go out and repurchase it again quickly. It really is that good.

I've owned this hairdryer for about a year and a half. It is well worth the higher price tag. It is the ONLY hairdryer I have ever used that has decreased my fly aways and made my hair feel smoother and healthier. I did have a piece on the inside of the hairdryer come loose about 6 months ago after a small tumble from the bathroom counter, but the manufacturer honored it's warranty and replaced it. I've had no problems since then.

I really liked this dryer. Both lightweight and nice and hot. However they warranty is only 12 months and sure enough at 13 months the heating element no longer functions. Get a dryer with a better warranty.

I purchased the Chi Pro Low EMF dryer and it worked well until I had it several months. After 12 months, I noticed that it took 5-7 seconds to heat. Then after I had it for 14 months, it stopped heating completely. I contacted the Chi/Farouk company and was told that they only warrant their dryers for 12 months. It is too expensive a hair dryer to last just a little over a year. I have had several much less expensive dryers that have lasted much longer. I do not recommend this product.

I did not purchase this item from Amazon but I felt the need to comment on it. This dryer is not for everyone. I love it because my hair is thick, wavy and tends to be dry. That said, most dryers are 1800 watts or higher, way too much heat for my type of hair. My hair needs to be dried low and slow, with a diffuser, which this does at 1375 watts. My boyfriend hates it because even on the high setting, it is still not hot and fast enough for him, which is why I say it is not for everyone. Most people are used to hot and fast blowdryers. So if you have wavy/curly thick hair that frizzes, I recommend this dryer. Just be aware that it will take you longer to dry your hair than with a conventional dryer.

I have purchased 2 of these hairdryers now and experienced same result with both dryers. After 18 months or so the heater cores went and they only blew cold air. Definitely not a good long term investment as I found out twice.

I absolutely loved my chi hairdryer. I have very thick hair and it decreased drying time plus it didn't get too hot. However, it just broke after only 16 months. The heating element stopped working and now it only produces cold air, which is as good as completely broken in my book. It doesn't fall under warranty, so now I am left without a hairdryer. I have had cheap hairdryers that lasted years longer than this one. I did see the other review about the heating element breaking, but I hoped that was a fluke. It appears this product is just defective. Take my advice and don't waste your money unless you are willing to pay again in less than a year and a half.

Product was never used because it was broken when received. Would not order from this supplier again. Service very slow. I have always been happy with Amazon but not this sub-supplier.

My wife seems to love her new hair dryer. It's MUCH quieter than the old one (which benefits me, as well as her!), has all the features she wants, and seems to be well-constructed. Well worth the money!
