frances england's music was introduced to me well before i had a child - and i proudly admit that i immediatly loaded her music into my ipod playlists. how many of us parent-types can say that they listen to their kids' music when their children aren't even around?!! that is how good this cd is. no kidding.

the lyrics are refreshingly clever & new. the tunes are catchy. (it's not unusual for me to find myself humming one of her songs randomly during my day - and not in an annoying i-can't-get-this-darn-song-out-of-my-head way, either.) and frances couldn't have a more sweet voice. oh, and my daughter digs her music. we're looking forward to frances' world tour!

fascinating creatures is a most excellent baby gift for parents-to-be who fear that the only music they'll get to hear for the next 10 years of their lives will be cloyingly cute children's music. you will restore their faith that everything child-related doesn't have to be ridiculously hokey.

I bought this CD after checking it out from our local library. Our entire family loved it. The lyrics are repetitive enough to engage preschoolers but clever enough to keep grownups interested after repeated hearings. The CD listens like riffs on a style--every song "sounds" like England, but they're all delightfully different, too. My husband loves it because England gives equal time to mummies and daddies (e.g., "Daddy-Oh" and "Paint a Picture"); I like the way she captures preschoolers' worldview and treats it with reverent humor (e.g., "Tricycle" and "Busy as a Bee"). My three-year-old's favorite song is "Charlie Parker," a fabulous, scatty romp through classic jazz and big band. She's been singing the song around the house since the second hearing.

My 2 yr. old and I love this CD. I never get tired of listening to it.

We got this CD as a gift when we had our daughter and we just love it. The lyrics are magical and the music and folksy and fun to listen to. My husband and I listen to it regardless of whether our daughter is around!

My daughter loves it and I love it! More upbeat than many folksy kids cds. Her lyrics are clever and fun. It was playing in my car when I friend (45yrs old, no kids) asked who it was. She loved it and didn't know it was meant to be a kids cd!

I purchased this for my son, but find myself listening to it even when he is not around. Or when he is around, I encourage him to choose it over other albums. The words to the songs are great, but even if you are not listening to the words the music is very pleasant and uplifting. It creates a positive, easy-going atmosphere in our home.

This CD is simply wonderful! Unlike most childrens Cd's it has enough appeal for mom and dad to groove to also and you don't mind these tunes getting stuck in your head! I even started singing "Sometimes" as a bedtime bottle song to my son. He is now 15 months and when he gets up in the morning he points to the cd player and we sing and dance while making breakfast. He sways his arms and claps when each song ends.

I just ordered this CD for all our toddler family members and friends for Christmas. And Santa will be stuffing Asa's stocking with Family Tree. If you are looking for a childrens album that is fresh and different from the norm but with enough kid appeal, this is the CD to get! Thanks Frances, we look forward to future albums!

Our 10 month old son loves this cd and actually we all do. It's cute and catchy without being annoying and all the songs are enjoyable which is rare for me on any cd. Sometimes I think we enjoy it more than he does and I often catch myself singing Blueberry Pancakes.

This newcomer on the children's music scene.....rocks! She could be likened to Elizabeth Mitchell in some ways, but her lyrics distinguish her from anyone else I've heard. My little boy loves the second cut...."Tricycle." And I have to say that "The tour de france in your underpants," (on your tricycle) is such a tummy buster! So much fun! BUY it and several copies today!

I checked this out from the library and fell in love. It has now become my go-to gift for baby showers. The music is a wonderful mix of gentle, fun, energetic and calming. My kids have sung along with it since an early age. The messages are sweet and I don't seem to tire of hearing it over and over. Frances England's music has plenty of appeal for adults and kids alike.
