I bought this for my daughter for Christmas, and it's a very cute, whimsical bank appropriate for older kids. There is a removable rubber plug at the bottom for which to access the money. She hasn't tried using it with money yet, but since the head is bigger than the body, there shouldn't be a problem with the dollar bills getting stuck at the top.

This Japanese cartoon inspired ceramic cat bank is truly awesome. It was larger than I was expected, which was a wonderful surprise, and it has the sturdiness and beauty of a modern sculpture. It makes an unexpectedly whimsical addition to a modern nursery, making it a nifty gift for hip parents and kids. I think a lot of teens would love this, as well. There is no way to open the bank other than smashing it, so be aware that anything you drop into the slot is staying there for awhile!
