From School Library Journal
Grade 7 Up-These outstanding titles are easy to follow and nicely organized. The table of contents lists 20 or so careers, including talent scouting and cartoon animation in Broadcasting and nail technician and cosmetologist in Fashion. Each chapter focuses on a different field and covers several aspects of it, from the history of the job to suggestions for gaining experience, from earnings and outlook information to a typical work environment. Contact information for accredited schools, national associations, and publications is included. With 10 pages or less devoted to each career, there is not as much in-depth information as found in other vocational guides, such as the "Professional Career" series (VGM). However, the simple layout and focus on popular positions make these titles attractive additions, especially for middle school, ESOL, and ESE populations.
