Her book about the history of combs, how ladies have worn them throughout the centuries, and wearing of the combs, was the original one on the subject, and it led to the founding of the International Antique Comb Collectors Association. Now nearing her nineties, Doris Eff's book belongs in the collection of any afficionado or novice collector of these artifacts of days gone by.
