The paper is reasonably ok light stock weight, but the paper fairies are so skinny with narrow edges (especially at the arms, wingtips, and braids) that they don't hold up. They don't stand properly even without clothes, and when dressed, they fold over because they're so long and spindly. The clothing are held on by tabs, which is fine except for the ones that need to be slotted into the dolls, which are difficult to use and rip/wear out with a couple of uses. The overall quality is not for longevity, and although this is the nature of paper dolls, I would have liked better quality considering the age of the children that it is marketed toward (i.e., it is marketed for play, not collecting).

The "fashions" are plain and boring to play with. While it is nice that they are all interchangeable between fairies, and have many separate tops & bottoms to mix & match (which is why 2 stars, not 1), I think the average 4 to 6 year old could colour the clothes better than the book. Also, some shades of the tops don't match with the bottoms. And many of the clothes are exactly the same but different colour. You could add glitter glue to spice things up, but the added weight is a downside. There is no glamour in this set, apart from 1 or 2 dresses.

Suggestions for better play: Cover the fairies with contact paper, clip the tabs off the clothes, and use double sided, low tack tape to hold the clothes on.

Perhaps a die-hard Disney Fairies fan could love this book, but it is doubtful the others will.

I have sworn off purchasing Disney products - they are always poorly made and end up breaking or not working the way they are intended to shamefully soon.

Someone gifted my children with these books. My little ones (ages 5 and 6) were extremely excited and pleased. The paper is not at all substantial enough so I took the dolls out and the outfits.

My complaints -

1) The dolls do not stand - when they are wearing the clothes they sway backwards.
2) The paper used for manufacturing is of poor stock - the outfits and dolls are prone to ripping, especially the tabs, the arms, the one fairy's braid, etc.
3) My children are unable to put the clothing tabs into the correct slots. Again - this is an issue of the paper being far too thin. I personally do not expect the tabs to last any length of time, and by that I mean, within the week, if we're lucky.
4) Some of the outfits are a top and a bottom - we have been met with resistance on the part of the dolls in trying to put two tabs of paper into one slot. Thus, our dolls are only able to wear one piece outfits.

These don't even deserve one star, in my opinion.

A much better product, in our experience is the Flower Fairies Paper Dolls that I purchased from Amazon last year during the holidays. They have held up well and are of much better quality.

*** An addition to my earlier review - the outfits did not even last the day. The tabs split and ripped and my children played with them gently.

Dolls and clothes are perforated. Easy for 8 year old to do by herself. Her friends enjoyed it with her.

I bought these for my 5 year old. The colors are great and there are plenty of clothes they can dress up in. My only complaint is that the clothes attach to the dolls by sticking the little tabs through tiny slots which is not easy to do. My daughter loves them but I have to help dress them and even I have a hard time, trying to push the tabs through the paper slit breaks the tabs off quite easily.
