I am a doll tailor and make clothing for retro fashion dolls. Although I was a teenager during the 1960's, I had forgotten the details of those fashions. This book brought it all back, and has spurred my imagination for designing original doll clothing a la the 1960's. The book has wonderful pictures and descriptions. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in 60's and 70's fashions.

From the editorial review:"Nearly 450 photos show these treasures in all their glory, as well as being modeled in modern-day context." Nope. Most of 450 images are just pictures of the clothes folded or on a dress form mannequin. Not what I was expecting from the reviews. I like to draw, so I collect books of vintage and current fashions and/or advertisements in which the clothing is worn by an actual model. Except for like 10 out of 450 pictures, this is not one of those books. Basically, you could recreate this book by going into a vintage consignment store and just taking pictures of the clothing on hangers. |
