I am a big fan of simulation games, so I was excited to get this game. Unfortunately, I ran into (many) problems before I could even play it.

* It had problems installing itself on my computer

* I emailed tech support with a full description of my problem (I am very computer literate, so I had a very detailed list of specific problems), but with delays in replies from support and failure to completely read my messages, it took over 4 months to get a real solution to my problem.

* To this day, it will only install on one computer I've ever tried it on.

Well, we ended up getting a *brand new* computer, and one of the first things I did was try to install it. Success! This was a really fun game. It took weeks for me to figure it all out (it doesn't come with any instructions to speak of, so be prepared to "sink or swim"), but when I had it going, I was hooked. Then... I ran into another problem. Once I got to a point in the game where I was having some moderate success, it would crash, and I'd have to start over. It wouldn't let me even reload a previously saved version - it would always crash at exactly the same point in the game.

I emailed support again, but I guess they were tired of hearing from me, because I haven't had a reply in over 9 months.

Anyway, Fast Food Tycoon isn't very expensive, and if you can get it to run, it's a lot of fun. Just don't expect any help from Activision Value if you need it - they apparently are too swamped with pleas for help to be able to answer any more.

I got this game used through Amazon for a very good price. I own Fast Food Tycoon 1 and really enjoyed playing it so I assume this one would be even better and it was. Just started playing.
Pros: I love the cartoonist graphics
Very challenging you can't just win the scenerios just like that
More things to do in this one then the first Fast Food Tycoon.
Biggest Con: Still no real tutorial to go with the game. The game tutorial [is bad]. You have to figure out how to play the majority of the game on your own.

I would have given the game 5 if it wasn't for that

... These are kind of like the games you buy and don't expect too much, but you can get a lot for the money.

First of all, a minus is the lack of instructions. No booklet inside, you have to look in the glossary in the game, which can be annoying when you need to know what the customer is saying or what is happening quickly. Eventually you realize what most buttons do, but I still don't use all of the options to my advantage.

Since you're supposed to build your pizza empire, there are many ways to attract customers. Try building different levels of luxury for different branches, or even challenge your rival restaurants to a best pizza contest. If you're successful, you still have to hire more employees to keep up with the flow of visitors.

A fun part of the game is the pizza making option, you design your own pizza, sometimes out of the weirdest ingredients-snake, maggots, ants, even a whole can of tuna. You have to adjust your ingredient choices to satisfy different customers-student, gothic, tourist, etc.

And finally, there are different cities to choose from, and the habitants speak their native language. Sometimes it can be a touch confusing, but it can be a nice addition.

If you enjoy simulation games, like I do, pick this game up, it's a well done bargain game.

I got this game awhile back and played it quite a bit. I loved the idea of it, but I highly recommend purchasing Restaurant Empire instead. It's a better game, with many more options.

Basically in this game you get a blank restaurant, you outfit it, you staff it, you make the "menu" and you try to keep customers happy. The biggest downside to this is that your menu consists only of pizza. You can make all kinds of pizza (which actually has a really fun interface), but you can only make pizza. The other part is - if you make pizzas that are popular in the real world.. like PEPPERONI.. the customers don't like them. They seem to like crazy pizzas like "Maggot sausage pizza with ants." Umm...

Overall it's not a bad game. I got it in the bargin bin at the game store for like $10, and it was worth the cost. Despite the few faults, it is fun to play and I got MANY hours of enjoyment out of it.

Fast Food Tycoon 2 is more like "The Sims" than the other tycoon games I've played, so if you like The Sims, you'll probably like Fast Food Tycoon 2. You have to build up your pizza empire and outdo your opponent. I think the label in the genre is "comic mischief." The major drawback to this game is the total lack of documentation. However, there is a good discussion board ... If you get stuck and post a help message to the discussion board, other players can generally help you out. Also the name in the U.S. is deceptive, as other reviewers have mentioned. I understand that outside of the U.S. it is called "Pizza Connection 2," which is a more accurate description. Pizza is your only choice of wares. Overall, though, I really enjoy the game. At first I was mad because I wanted to sell burgers too. Now I'm okay with the pizza thing.

...but once i got the hang of it, it was SO fun!
you create a character, the name of your company, and go to the city. there you try to conquer the other opponent's pizza palace (so to speak) by sending rats, kidnapping employees, punks to abuse the restaurant, etc. you can create pizzas with regular ingredients, or pizzas with ants, grasshoppers, and other strange food types.
overall, fun. ;)

This game was alot of fun. As the player, you have alot more control over the game than you did the first one. And the limit for how many people you could employ per restaurant is now gone. The graphics were more realistic. All in all, it is a much better version. Definatly worth the money. Alot of replay value.

I always thought a "restaurant sim" would be fascinating - preparing the menu, choosing the decor, hiring employees, expanding, etc. Fast Food Tycoon seemed to offer some semblance of that, but not with the depth I hoped for. It would be nice to be able to branch out beyond pizza - though the choices of toppings are somewhat inspired. The game game with few instructions other than a tutorial that you can play upon starting the game, and even that wasn't all that intuitive to figure out. I guess this game would be a good diversion for a while. I haven't tried the rest of the "tycoon" games, but I hope some of them are better than this.

Normally the tycoon games are spectacular, but this one really brought down my expectations. WAY too hard to learn. Imagine: you get a new video game (like a tycoon game) and you don't want to read the directions...you just want to sit and play and learn as you go...NOT with this game... NONONO --> I even sat through the tutorials and read the book and still did not understand what the heck was going on. All and all, this game bites.

I picked this game up in compusa back in Christmas of 01'
since then it has been played by our family who knows how many times..
i have personally played it prolly 15 or so replays..
its hands down my favorite tycoon game..
it plays just fine in any of our pimped out xp computers..
not sure about windows7 or 98 ..havent tried in those yet..
its not a hard game to learn at all..
if you need help ..just look online..
one thing i do a lot is cheat..
i lower the price of the pizzas to get the customers in..
then i max out the price as they are ordering and leave it maxed out as long as i can..
once you are popular you can leave several of your restaurants maxed out...
maybe that is why ppl say its hard..
they dont cheat..
i would not know about that bc i have Always cheated..
the last campaign in japan is Super challanging..
each city becomes more challanging as you go..
