Editorial Reviews

Founding member Steve Rawles formed Belvedere in 1995. After a few lineup shifts, they released their debut, Because No One Stopped Us, on Hourglass and 206 Records. The album sold over 3000 copies and helped Belvedere in 1998’s Bad Religion/Warped Tour Battle Of The Bands, when they beat out hundreds of other groups and won recording time courtesy of Atlantic Records. In the coming year, Belvedere toured the West Coast several more times, supported Bad Religion on a three-month tour and shot their first music video. This tour-hungry band has played with Strung Out, Bad Religion, Dayglo Abortions, Wide Mouth Mason, Good Riddance, Big Wig, Gob, 22 Jacks, Catch 22, SNFU, Ten Foot Pole, Diesel Boy, H2O and Chixdiggit, among others. Other Belvedere projects include several contributions to CD compilations, TV show soundtracks (Nickelodeon’s Caitlin’s Way, Fox Sports) and movie soundtracks (Skate Canada ‘00, RIDE: The Movie). Fast Forward Eats The Tape is by far Belvedere’s best stuff to date. Infectious melodies and blistering speed pound through the 15 tracks that deal with everything from incessant touring and bad relationships to the joys of skateboarding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Belvedere, June 27, 2004

Okay... Well, as a HUGE Belvedere fan, I have to say, that this record is amazing. It puts their older stuff to shame. The lyrics have improved SOOO much, and they have alot of more melodic songs and riffs then in the past, its alot like "T'was hell said former child" only a little heavier and and in my opinion, better. Thanks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Punk is a dish best served.... Canadian, June 6, 2004

Calgary Alberta is the town that has given us Belvedere, a punk band quite reminiscint to other "melodic hardcore" or "melodo h-core" as the kids say, as Bigwig, Rise Against, Strike Anywhere and Alexisonfire. These guys are one heck of a punk band. They can rock and funk and well maybe not funk but they sure can rock. Songs such as Two Minutes for Looking So Good or Stain demonstrate their rocking ness with their catchiness. Calgary may have the Flames, and the Stampeders but they also have Belvedere. If you can pick up any Belvedere cd, Twas Hell Said Former Child, Because No one Stopped Us, Angels Live in my Town or this. They are all wickedness in a basket of musical genius. If I could describe Belvedere in one word it would be milk. They can be soft, can go down the right way and if works properly it can be very good for you as long as you have two to three glasses. Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Punk is alive in Canada, May 25, 2004

If you've had a chance to listen to any of their previous albums, you already know.......Belvedere is a kick ass, quality punk band. And they're Canadian!!! This album is more of the same. No gimmicks, no fashion show, just good music...which isn't overly popular these days. I recommend you go out and buy it. It'll cost you a tad more than the average CD, being that it is a small band from a small town(in the whole music biz scope of things). But do yourself a favor by reaching past the new Avril(PopStarDesperatelySeekingPunkStatus)Lavigne album, perhaps accidentally knock a few of hers to the floor, and grab a copy of Belvedere's latest and greatest.
