5.0 out of 5 stars Completely amazing score from Brian Tyler
This score for The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is one of the best action scores I can remember. The opening tracks are intense and full. Brian Tyler's scores for Timeline, Children of Dune, Constantine, and The Hunted are also really great but I was really surprised by this CD. It is some of the craziest action music in years (I also really like "The Bourne...

1.0 out of 5 stars Missing several tracks from the movie
I'm giving this one star because I did not find in any track of this CD the songs I wanted from the movie. My mistake for buying it without listen a sampler. The songs I wanted were the one from the scene when Han and Sean enter a party and the one when black Sean buddy's green Touran appears from the elevator in the parking lot.

This score for The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is one of the best action scores I can remember. The opening tracks are intense and full. Brian Tyler's scores for Timeline, Children of Dune, Constantine, and The Hunted are also really great but I was really surprised by this CD. It is some of the craziest action music in years (I also really like "The Bourne Identity"). Check out the title track or "Downtown Tokyo Chase" with its pounding drums and powerful orchestra. The melodic side is cool too. The haunting "Neela Drifts" is probably my favorite track with its memorable acoustic guitar melody and its beautiful sound. There are guitars on here too including a track that both Tyler and Slash play on called "Mustang Nismo" which is from the section of the movie where the main character combines a Nissan motor and a Ford Mustang chassis. Great music for driving of course!

Those who don't realize this is not the the song soundtrack should do a little more research. Come on people, its not that hard. Don't give it a bad rating because you don't understand the basics of the English language. This is a SCORE SOUNDTRACK. And it is amazing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible music!, December 10, 2007

Neela Drifts is one of the truly great tracks I own. This score has so many highlights. The rocking Mustang Nismo, the funky Saucin, and the orchestral mindblower title track. I have no idea why there is that one bad review on amazon for this album. 1 star? That is crazy. This music is top notch. One of the best action soundtracks I have ever heard.

I am a huge fan of Brian Tyler's Children of Dune and this soundtrack sounds completely different but it is intense, blood pumping action music. It is fantastic to put in your car and drive like a maniac! The drums and guitar compliment the orchestra perfectly. A must buy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very very disappointed, November 9, 2007

When I found out that a score album was released for Tokyo Drift I was eager to hear the great track Neela Drifts. Once I received my copy I went straight to that track. Upon listening to that track I was greatly disappointed, why this was is because it just drags on and on. It's pretty much 3.27 of the same chords and keys -very repetitive- to the point that I am simply bored of the track.

However I'm not totally writing this album off, only a handful of tracks save this album and that would be:
This Is My Mexico - 1:23, Welcome To Tokyo - 1:54, Journey Backwards - 0:58, I Gotta Do This - 1:14 and
Neela - 1:44

All tracks mentioned are under the two minute mark - an that's not a bad thing because to me if they were any longer they would be placed in the same box as Neela Drifts - Too Long, Got Bored.

Most of the album is a fusion of rock and orchestral music - the verdict is it's a huuuuuuuge hit an miss, simply put it just doesn't do anything for me, it feels very cold and harsh. Now thats not to say that I don't enjoy the rock/orchestral fusion because I do and there's only one composer that I've really enjoyed with that style and that would be Trevor Rabin. The music that Rabin created for National Treasure alone simply leaves this album in the dust.

So to sum it up ... 7 minutes of this album is truly listenable out of a total of about 64 minutes. Not good enough.

If you're into the rock/orchestral sound then I would recommend National Treasure and Armageddon.

I give this product one star because it was not what I wanted and I was very unsatisfied with what I recieved. I do not have a problem, however with Amazon.com, just with the product I purchased.
