The recipes in this book are the best I have come across. They are every day ingredients and easy to read without going to this specialty shop or that specialty shop to get ingredients. The pictures are beautiful and makes me think of comfort food ,and we all need that these days. I would grab a copy today as I have and you won't be sorry.

I don't regularly cook gluten free, but Gretchen Brown's blog, [...],caught my eye over a year ago and I have enjoyed the recipes and education I have picked up following her there. Gretchen's new book is full of mouth-watering photographs and recipes that live-up to the promise of her photography. Simple, fresh and delicious, the recipes make cooking for gluten-free friends and family (as well as my own, gluten-loving family and friends) effortless. A few recipes stand apart from the crowd for me: The Mango-Guacamole (which I have been known to gift in a mason jar with a spoon attached, knowing full-well that chips were simply not necessary) and the Brownies (which are simply the best brownies I have ever tasted - gluten-free or not) are two of her show-stoppers. It is rare for my family to find a cook book which consistently produces unanimous "greatest hits", but amazingly, Gretchen has done it. I pre-ordered my first copy and have subsequently purchased several more as gifts...there are going to be some very happy people come Christmas!

Just got my cookbook today. One look at the recipes and photos and you'll have hope that gluten free pizza, breads, and desserts can still taste great. This cookbook isn't just for those who follow a gluten free diet. Many main dish and other recipes just happen to be gluten free. The cookbook was intended as a gift, but never before have I picked up a cookbook and wanted to try almost ALL the recipes. I'm keeping it!

On the cover of Fast and Simple Gluten Free is the statement "30 minutes or less to fresh and classic favorites." May I say, this is only true for most of the recipes if you have a prep staff who have done the mise en place before you head to the kitchen. The recipes are good, but the prep time and number of ingredients far exceeds that estimate. For example, the Quinoa Tabbouleh recipe has 13 ingredients involving precooking, chopping, and toasting before mixing them all together. The Red Curry Chicken Soup looks delicious in the color photo (there are many) but I haven't tried it yet because it involves preparing 18 ingredients before the soup hits the pot (cooking the chicken, mincing, chopping, and slicing veggies juicing, etc and then measuring it all out! It would take me an hour to do that alone. But if it is as good as the recipes I have tried, it will be worth it. I'm just waiting for the right day when I have the time to spend to do it right. Two of the recipes I heartily recommend are the Pork Tacos with Avocado & Tomato Salsa (17 ingredients) and the most unusual and delicious one, Aloe Lemonade (only 4 ingredients and oh,so good). It introduced me to drinkable Aloe Juice and its benefits for celiac disease sufferers. So, I gave this cookbook 4 stars due to the title being so inaccurate. Had it not emphasized the time and simplicity, it would have been 5.

I got this cookbook for three of my family members with celiac. I also bought myself a copy, even though I can eat gluten. Regardless, this book has quickly become one of my favorite cookbooks. The recipes really are fast and simple, plus they are super delicious! I have yet to be disappointed with any of the recipes I have made. My GF family members that I gifted this to love this cookbook as well.

Gretchen is awesome. She has a beautifully simple way of making classic foods without the tummy ache. I have made several of these recipes and served them without any of my guests realizing the meals were gluten-free. If you or anyone you cook for has a gluten sensitivity, this book is simply a must-have.

Everything I have ever made in Fast and Simple Gluten-Free has turned out to be delicious! You have the option of using the author's flour blend, but I have made many of the recipes with my own gluten-free flour blends, and they have all turned out well. I will add that while many of the recipes I have tried, can be made in under 30 minutes, I have tried a few that took a little longer than that, so just be forewarned. If you are looking for a couple of recipes to start out with, the Pear Dutch Baby has turned out to be one of our family favorite recipes {works well with apples too}, and the Chicken Pot Pie is divine too. Highly recommended!
