The main reason that I chose this particular tape measure is because it reads in true millimeters rather then giving you centimeters, as the majority of these tape measures do. This makes it easier to maintain measurements in whole numbers rather then using centimeters which forces you to add a decimal point (example..11 millimeters rather than 1.1 centimeters.
One silly negative detail that I discovered today was that the measurement stamped on the case is in inches. The entire tape measure is in millimeters except this one measurement that is to be added to the measurement when measuring an inside dimension.
Pencil sharpener is cool; but i don't use it.
will handle a fall without breaking.
clear easy to read. white space in center of tape for marking.
Few metric tapes available in America - this is the best one. Just wish it was longer or came in a longer model.
So I started using this tape because I found reading the SAE tapes to be a hassle. Why I do doesn't require precision so using a SAE tape wasn't a big deal. But I thought, would the metric system be an easier system to use...seeing as how everything is in a base 10 system, like money(I dare a bank to use a base 15 system).
After using the tape for basic work, I immediately saw the advantages. First off, this is a MM tape. Meaning I can see everything quickly down to the millimeter, which is more precise than a 1/16th. Next, everything is in tens so I can quickly scan from one number to the next. No conversions, no guessing.
The tape is sturdy can stays strong beyond 2M. It started to give way at about 2.5M. The tape is easy to read with Red 100s on black 10s.
It is a definite buy if you are looking to move from the antiquated SAE system to the international standard.

Not a bad tape. Really liked having SI units on both edges of the tape. The hook on the tape was not impressive if i recall correctly. Read morePublished 3 months ago by C. Martins
