Classic book that chronicles the history of the land speed record and what it would take to drive a car faster than the speed of sound (760 miles per hour). Lots of photos and commentary as well as interviews with the men and women who race for the land speed record and what it is like. Mr. Shapiro is quite the historian as there are photos in the book that have never been published elswhere.
