2.0 out of 5 stars Not the Real Thing-The real FASTIN is apparently no longer produced under that name, October 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this item with the idea that it was brand-name phentermine. If I understand correctly, phentermine is very similar to phendimetrazine. Since I have used prescription phendimetrazine (but not phentermine), MY REVIEW IS BASED UPON A COMPARISON TO PRESCRIPTION PHENDIMETRAZINE. I am NOT sure of this, but my understanding is that the only difference between phendimetrazine and phentermine (both prescription) is that phendimetrazine is taken 3 times daily and phentermine is taken once daily (in most cases).

I have been using Fastin, which used to be the brand name version of phentermine, for about four days now. On day 1, it suppressed my appetite quite effectively, and did, indeed, increase my energy. Over the course of the four days, however, the effectiveness has deteriorated to a very minimal effect.

I was previously on the Garcia diet, which is doctor-supervised. They dispensed prescription phendimetrazine. Their manual also listed phentermine as a drug that is used instead of phendimetrazine for some patients, so I am assuming that it is very similar to phendimetrazine. I cannot confirm this, however. The phendimetrazine that I used was extremely effective. It suppressed my appetite to the point where I almost didn't want to eat at all, and it boosted my energy to the point that I was ready to re-paint the sisteen chapel!

I did some research on the web and discovered the following:

Until 1998, Fastin was the brand-name version of phentermine (prescription), and phentermine was the generic, identical drug. In 1998, however, the company that was manufacturing Fastin stopped production. At some point, another company started manufacturing something completely different and used the same name (Fastin). Assuming that my information is accurate, this explains why some other reviewers have made comments like "Fastin is not what it used to be." It is apparently a valid statement, since it LITERALLY is not what it used to be.

IF phentermine is almost the same thing as phendimetrazine, then this Fastin sold through amazon is not even remotely close in its strength or effectiveness. In my opinion,it is not worth the price.

PROS:
It does help suppress appetite and boost energy, but it appears to lose its effectiveness after a few days of use.

I did not experience any problems with product freshness as reported by other reviewers. My tablets were properly sealed, and had no brown color. My pills were white with blue speckles.

CONS:

It only works well for a couple of days. After that, it helps suppress appetite somewhat, but nowhere close to the real thing.

Using the name of FASTIN is unethical and misleading, since Fastin used to be the brand-name version of prescription phentermine. This appears to be a blatant attempt to cheat the public

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IF YOU PLAN TO PURHASE PHENTERMINE ONLINE:

If you see it offered without a prescription, CHECK THE SPELLING CAREFULLY! In each and every case where I have found it without a prescription requirement, there was a slight variation in the spelling. THIS WAS EVEN TRUE WHEN THE SPELLING WAS CORRECT AT FIRST, BUT WHEN YOU CLICK THE LINK TO PURCHASE THE PILLS, THE NAME CHANGES SPELLING TO SOMETHING ELSE. The changes in spelling are so subtle that it is very easy to not even notice the difference. Additionally, they often rate them with the exact same mg ratings (37.5 mg phenTRAmine, for example). Other examples that I have seen include phenterimine, phentramin-D, phenteramine, and phentirimine. If you search these names on webMD, you will only get results for the legitimate spelling (phentermine). You might, however, see LINKs under the search results with the invalid spellings.

If it isn't spelled exactly correct, it probably is not the real thing. Let the buyer beware!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great weight loss pill, May 18, 2008
I actually purchased this product with high doubt because after using the diet pill Alli i was skeptical about any diet pill. Because of Alli's horrible side effects and the toll it placed upon my stomach, i wanted to be very confident in another diet pill. I walked into my local GNC and the manager there recommended me Fastin. She told me of a woman who tried several diet pills and failed until she started consuming Fastin. This woman went from a size 16 to a 4. She also said i could return it if i did not enjoy the effects. All of this convinced me to purchase a bottle of Fastin. I am only on my third (not even full) day and i have lost four pounds. I don't feel any side effects (yet or may not even!). I currently love this product and recommend it to anyone. I also have a weak stomach and Fastin has not affected it negatively. I definitely recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fastin works for me, October 24, 2009

On my second bottle of Fastin and I went from 207 Lbs to 167 Lbs in 4 months. Read the side effects. I get the jitters about an hour after my first pill. I also get power surges of energy and because of that I get hot flashes. I'm a 34 yr old non-smoking, non-drinking white female. Just like anything this product may not work for everyone. But I love it. I have 15 more pounds till my goal weight. I feel healthier than ever. I have more energy to go out and enjoy the stuff I use to.
