5.0 out of 5 stars Eco Friendly Brain Expanding Toy
The Easter Bunny brought my son this fabulous toy, and though I thought at first he might be a little old for it at five, it was a hit. There is enough going on with the interconnective blocks and endless possibilities that I think it works for a wide age range, making this a great value for purchase during that first year. They'd probably do well on conference tables...

This toy is awesome. . . for my husband and I, my child has had little interest. At 2.5 yrs he has a hard time putting the long rectangular blocks into the larger square ones. The square isn't perfectly square and so sometimes you have to turn the blocks to make them fit into one another. I also thought it was worth mentioning that these blocks "bleed" a little bit when...

The Easter Bunny brought my son this fabulous toy, and though I thought at first he might be a little old for it at five, it was a hit. There is enough going on with the interconnective blocks and endless possibilities that I think it works for a wide age range, making this a great value for purchase during that first year. They'd probably do well on conference tables for meetings as even adults are more productive brainstormers when they have something interesting to play with. And of course they would be great in the classroom.

The blocks are well made of renewable rubber wood and and Twig comes with its own cotton bag for storage. Toys always get huge points from me for addressing the storage issue and the bag is functional and cute.

I love the open ended play concept and Twig is perfect for building brain power and creativity and good old fashioned fun with a modern twist.

The square isn't perfectly square and so sometimes you have to turn the blocks to make them fit into one another. I also thought it was worth mentioning that these blocks "bleed" a little bit when damp from sweaty hands. This is concerning for us since these blocks are made in China. The company has a clean record so far though, so hopefully they are "truly" non-toxic. I didn't return them, but will be putting them up for when my son is older and more dexterous. They are a lot of fun for us and hopefully will be for my child in the future.

We initially saw these blocks at a children's play museum. My son was fascinated with them and spent nearly half an hour playing away, not interested in any of the other attractions around! At 2.5 years old he couldn't get enough!
So for his 3rd birthday we purchased these. My 6 year old daughter also likes playing with them. They really spark imagination, creativity, and spacial reasoning skills! Plus, they are durable, eco-friendly, and came in a nice simple box- no crazy packaging to contend with.
My son has a love of blocks- we have lego duplos, wood blocks, rubber blocks, fabric blocks, block puzzles, etc, but these are the ones that he always comes back to!

I'm a teacher and recently bought this "manipulative" for my classroom of 3 to 6 year olds. WOW....it's the most popular thing in the classroom! All the children really enjoy building simple and complex structures with it. There seems to be endless design possibilities. The children keep amazing me with their continual curiosity and interest in building new and original designs. We have to use a timer since so many children want a turn to use it!

I bought these blocks to have at grandma's house and was so excited to get them after reading all the great reviews. I was a little surprised that they were a little bit rough, but not a big deal. My grandson (3 years) loves blocks so I was anxious to see how these would go over. He really liked building with them....pretty basic stuff at 3, but the potential is there for many years to come. My disappointment came when his little sister grabbed an orange block and put it in her mouth. Her face and hands were immediately orange! Although I am totally sad to return these blocks, I can't justify keeping them if the paint comes off, even if they claim that it's non-toxic. Otherwise a great toy. I hope they find a solution to the paint issue....I would buy them again.

Our family got these blocks for Christmas. Immediately all 3 of my kids (ages 6, 3 and 1) were completely engrossed in playing with these blocks. Even my husband couldn't stop playing with them. They are a little expensive but totally worth it considering the quality! One of the large pieces did break but Fat Brain is sending me a replacement for free. Great company and a great product!!

Although these "blocks" are a little pricey, they're worth it. My 2 year old pulls his Twigs out every day. There are so many possibilities with this toy and it really sparks my son's imagination. They are durable as well. I highly recommend this toy.

This toy rocks. There are so many educational possibilities that it makes it well worth the price. It is so much fun I actually enjoy playing with my boys, a rare find in toys IMO. I fully recommend it.

We love these blocks. We have had them for nearly a year. All pieces are still in good condition. I got these last year as a toy for both my boys. My youngest at the time loved to nest things. My oldest could build with maga bocks and use over 100 pieces like it was nothing. I got these because I felt it would force him to think a bit more as he is building. Make it a bit more challenging then straight forward maga blocks. A year later they still love them! Every child that comes here (I run a home daycare) LOVE these. No matter their age.

These blocks are outside the box so to speak. They are so interesting we all play with them when they are out. They come with their own storage bag which is always appreciated. They are great for open ended play and the kids will often work together on their building projects. They also like to see how high they can go before the baby knocks them down.
I would say they are appropriate for any age but a really good gender neutral gift for ages 3-6.
