Fat CAt 7-Foot Reno II,

The good part. Free delivery with amazon free shipping program. The bad. First delivery, the table has a factory defect that has a hump stretching about 4-5 feet across the table. The balls will roll to the side once it hit on the hump. I should have taken a look first at the table before assembling the legs (2-3 hours assembly). Return the table for a replacement. Second delivery was just as bad as the first one. There was a dent in the middle of the table and the edge was broken. Might be damage during shipping. This table can be clearly seen as a mass produce product from China. Some holes don't align. It's also made of MDF. I've learned my lesson not to buy a pool table without checking it physically first.

Fat Cat 7' Pool Table,

Fat Cat 7-Foot Reno II Billiard TableTable came with FREE delivery, mostly assembled. We were worried about the slate not being together and the felt, but it came in one peice! I had to put the legs together which was very simple, very nice looking legs! My husband and I lifted the top to place over the frame, but it was too heavy for me. Two strong men should lift it. It fits right on top, bolt it down, level it and play. Looks very, very nice in the den. There is a hollow sound of the balls rolling because it is a simulated slate, but we quickly got used to it. Looks WAY more expensive than it cost.

Get What You Pay For,
This review is from: Fat Cat 7-Foot Reno II Billiard Table (Sports)
Ordered this table recently and have had limited use on it, but I can give some initial reactions that I wish I had known about before purchasing (although I doubt it would have changed my mind).
One of the main decisions to make around buying a pool table is whether to go with a slate table or not. I had read a number of reviews on non-slate tables such as accuslate, and those reviews seemed pretty positive on accuslate. Add the 7 year warranty, and it seems like a risk worth taking. The other factor I considered was that this is a 7ft table (all that my space comfortably fits), and I figured that if I was going to go all out on a slate table, it should be when I'm buying an 8ft or 9ft table. The table is delivered with the top assembled and the legs needing assembly. This assembly is easy and directions are straight forward, so no need to feel intimidated. First thing we noticed when assembling was that the top of the table (playing surface) seemed a little flimsy (if you held the table from either end and put a 50lb weight in the middle, it would probably bow 10 inches). Once the table was assembled, it looked as advertised, but the felt seemed a little 2nd class to me. The real let down on this table was the playing experience. The balls roll much slower than on a regular slate table, and the bumpers do not have much of a bounce in them. To clarify, if you were to hit a cue ball across an 8ft brunswick table with medium force from the breaking position, the ball should hit the bumper on the far wall and still have enough momentum to hit the wall closest to you. With this table, the ball will probably stop shortly after hitting the far wall bumper. The ball rolls straight while at high speeds, but starts to wobble a bit when it is rolling to rest. Whether or not the play is a deal breaker depends on the purpose of the table (casual play only). I would say this review sums up more to a warning on accuslate than on this particular table. Accuslate has significant drawbacks to an actual slate table, and this table is no exception (warranty or not). The bumpers and felt quality are a separate issue, and that I would say might have been cheaped out on a bit by Fat Cat (or GLD, which I believe is its parent company).

Good Table,
This review is from: Fat Cat 7-Foot Reno II Billiard Table (Sports)
I was very skeptical about spending this much money on a pool table sight unseen, but it is definitely worth the money for what you get. Assembly takes some time, but it's solid once it's together. Pockets and rails are very nice on the table. I think the fabric is a little more red than the pictures show, but it still looks good. As everyone else says, it looks like a $2,000 table, but costs way less. After leveling the table it rolls true. Sometimes I think the ball may roll a tad more to one side than the other, but it's on carpet, not hardwood. The packaging on the table was also good, came on it's own pallet, and had wooden spacers & foam around the entire table & contents to protect everything.

I just got this pool table and couldn't be happier with the purchase. The accu-slate is perfectly level and the table looks like I paid double the price. Don't expect to be impressed with the accessories though. The table comes with two pool cues which are pretty cheap and really only good for putting a bridge on them, and the brush is absolutely worthless as the bristles come out as you use it. Not a big deal, just be ready to have your own accessories on hand. The assembly will take about 3-4 hours but has very easy instructions. Overall, I am very impressed with the design, quality, and look of this table.

I DISAGREE WITH THE LAST REVIEWER ABOUT THE TABLE BEING DEFECTIVE
I RECEIVED MY TABLE ABOUT a WEEK AND A HALF AGO.... I HAVENT FELT BETTER ABOUT A PURCHASE IN MY LIFE... I DEBATED BETWEEN THIS TABLE AND THE POCKEY TABLES THAT ARE FLIPPABLE. BASED ON THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS OF POCKEY TABLES, I WENT WITH THIS ONE INSTALLATION WAS ONLY DIFFICULT BECAUSE THE LEGS ARE A LITTLE TEDIOUS TO PUT TOGETHER . BESIDES THIS, AFTER THE LEGS ARE DONE , THE REST IS A BREEZE YES, IT DOES REQUIRE TWO STRONG MEN TO LIFT THE TABLE ON TO THE STAND, BUT I WOULD SAY ITS WORTH THE 2-3 HOURS OF INSTALL TIME , AND ENDLESS FUN AFTERWARDS! LIKE TAMELA SAID IN THE PREVIOUS REVIEW, LOOKS WAY MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IT COST ! ! ! ! IM SO GLAD I DIDNT BUY a $2,000 TABLE FROM A STORE ! UPDATE* FEB 13, 2010 - It has Now been 2-3 Months and still Perfect Table ! GO BUY IT ... I HAVE A WHOLE PICTURE FOLDER ON MY COMPUTER CALLED POOL NIGHTZ ... COUNTLESS FUN ... I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MANY HOUSE PARTIES IN SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.... THAN YOU FAT CAT RENO !

Our table, Fat Cat 7-Foot Reno II Billiard Table, was delivered promptly and assembled in about 4 hours with two of us working. It is a beautiful piece of furniture, and leveled easily on a concrete floor. The table does play a bit slowly on the composite bed, but that's fine for us as we are both average players. As others have suggested, spend a little extra on good accessories -- the ones supplied, particularly the cues are of poor quality. The only really negative has been a small wrinkle which developed in the felt near a corner pocket within the first couple of weeks. Since that time, no further problems have been noted. (Our table is not in a climate controlled space, so humidity may be the problem here.) For us, though, the table is a perfect match for our ability. If you are a really good player looking for true, fast slate action, then this table is probably not for you. I must say again, this is a really beautiful table for the money, and we are quite pleased. You will need a second person to fit the top to the frame and it also helps with other parts of the assembly. The construction is really very sound, and the result is a solid table. We recommend.

its a nice table. probably priced a tad too much. probably should consider going to a store and buying a table and take it home yourself if possible that way you know it won't be damaged.otherwise i like the table. i play on it a few days a week.
