Tendo como base a alegoria de uma mulher gorda que não consegue entrar em sua casa por ter muitos pacotes em suas mãos, George R. Knight, desenvolve a idéia de que a Igreja pode estar sendo impedida de cumprir sua missão, atrapalhada pelo excesso de instituições. Vê a Igreja Adventista do Sétimo Dia como estando exatamente na 4º fase de David Moberg, o Institucionalismo. Para que não entre na 5ª fase, a Desintegração, necessita reestruturar-se tendo como focus principal a missão que tem caracterizado a igreja em toda sua história.
