4.0 out of 5 stars Will they include In app purchasing in the future? March 29, 2014
Verified Purchase
As a FAOTD, I found this game somewhat enjoyable. However it most certainly is not going to ever become the next Candy Crush or FarmVille as the lure of this game just isn't there for adults. As a FAOTD, it's worth the download for a little time killer, but I do not think I would have purchased it for myself. Due to the complexities of the quests, I suspect this game is best suited for ages 10+ but the content is fine for all ages. If you have kids, this might very well be the app you want to have on your kindle for those long road trips to keep them occupied.

I question an app presented without any in-app purchasing from Zynga as to just when they implement it (only app I have seen them have without it). I can see this changing in the future after you read their terms of service:

"1.3 You understand that while at times you may "earn" "buy" or "purchase" (a) virtual currency, including but not limited to virtual clay, coins, cash, tokens, or points, all for use in the Application; "

No Exit/Quit feature - The elusive and complicated feature that most games/apps are able to implement/include has escaped the developer. One would think that a paid app would include this, maybe the FAOTD version doesn't get it. I had to force close this app that consumes 179 MB. Quite the memory hog for an app that doesn't shut down. If you are not familiar with "force closing" applications and your tablet runs slow after you play this game, you can bet this is your issue. Simply reboot your tablet.

Instructions - The tutorial will get you going, but more detailed information could have been included (ie what each type of power-up's function is).

5.0 out of 5 stars "Claymation At It's Best"......... November 6, 2013
Verified Purchase
This is one of the cutest games I have seen...Squishing clay monsters to save Clay Jam....Controls are easy...Safe and fun for children but I as an adult love it...It's addicting guiding fat pebble through you own path flattening and collecting bully beasts..You hurry up and make pebble bigger so in the end you collect more clay and power-ups..Each level has different objectives...Flattening 6 jumping worms in a row gains more points...The clay animations and graphics are cool....The background sounds and music is delightful.....It's just a silly game that will make children laugh....Little ones and big ones....

No annoying ads, no IAP, safe permissions..My little niece loves this game.....

It's Claymation!

Kindle HDX 7..Worth 99 cents...

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a cute graphics game aimed at children! March 29, 2014

You roll your little ball of clay squishing little clay creatures running in front of you. You use your finger on the screen to make a groove in the clay ground to adjust the tracking of the ball to smash as many of the creatures as you can. Gather as much clay mass as you can so that when you run into the Bully Beast you can do as much damage as possible. Roll fast and don't let the clay coming from behind catch you. I found it easy to have the rolling ball to go off the track and you can't really tell it has happened as your hand and fingers are in the way of you seeing where the ball is in relationship to the track. With your hand on the screen this will be more difficult to play using a smaller phone.

I find the game cute but it is certainly designed for children. The controls on a quad core android tablet seemed slow. There is a very basic tutorial on the game play but it could have certainly been better. The graphics are cute and colorful. Overall I rated the game as a 4 star app.

The game does contain Flurry Analytics and it reads your phone state. There are no other invasive permissions at this time so it is not mining your other data except for your phone ID and your game playing information.

5.0 out of 5 stars So weird! That's what makes it fun! March 29, 2014
Verified Purchase
This game is so strange! It's very cheesy, but strangely enough, I find myself addicted! It was hard to figure out the way to play at first. It did take a long time to load(I think it's just because of my tablet and it is a slightly large file). The one thing I have a problem with with is: to roll the clay, my finger is in front of the ball drawing a path for the ball to follow. This makes viewing a bit difficult (for me) because my hand is blocking half of the screen.I find the ball vearing off course and out of the path. This is a slight annoyance, but I just do the level again... Which keeps me playing this strange little game! I've tried drawing with a stylus, but it stutters on the screen. So...all in all. Not a bad game! I would recommend giving it a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars Katamari Damacy for Android? March 29, 2014
Verified Purchase
The plot's basically the same as KD: you need to rebuild the world by rolling up stuff with a ball. The control style is different, but still intuitive and fun to use. The only real downsides are slow loads, and that if you want awesome music like in KD, you'll have to sing it yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique Artistry with Art Fair Flair March 29, 2014
Verified Purchase
How often can the words "Unique Artistry" and "Android Application" be seen together? Well, Clay Jam is your chance to witness artistic fantasy that ups the bar on all those Indie Developers looking to make a "clay gouge" in the market.

Apparently originally designed for Android phones with Phone ID privacy permission (plus standard Network access) and portrait orientation only, this unsung gem looks even more glorious in 10.1" screen splendor. Yes, a simple game with simple control mechanics that a 4 year old can handle, but nostalgically delightful for those who remember oh so long ago watching all those claymation holiday classics for the first time.

A fair amount of in-game upgrading options are available, but nothing elaborate, nor are the action goals strenuous, just a wonderful blend of casual arcade with local Art Fair flair. No nastiness hiding in this game save the ones you get to squish!
