Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Molly tries to stay up every year to see Santa climb down the chimney and deliver the presents. The mystery continuesuntil this year. She hears a thud, then a voice saying something about elves and plum pudding. Soot is filling the fireplace, and Molly spots two feet dangling from the chimney. Santa is delivering presents on a full stomach, and now he's stuck. Molly not only helps him to get unstuck but also makes some of his deliveries for him. The reality or elusiveness of Santa's soujourn on Christmas Eve continues to be a source of inspiration and humor, and Cuyler has amiably captured this spirit. Winborn's illustrations are rich with Christmas trappings, and Molly's undergarment suit is as flashy and modish as Santa's. Ages 5-8.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fat Santa - Fantastic!!, December 17, 2000
This review is from: Fat Santa (Paperback)
This is a great Christmas book for children. I read the book every year to my first graders. I stop during the book and have the children 'create' ways to help Molly get Santa out of the chimney. The ending is 'magical' to young listeners. When I read the book we can NEVER say the word 'Fat' outloud - for fear 'someone' might be listening. A MUST book for young children. Even my non-Santa believers love the book.
