When I was consistently writing in my journal, I found that I would think twice about what I was eating. The check-off system especially helped me remember to drink water and to eat more fruits and vegetables, and to get enough protein. Daily and weekly review kept me on track and helped me identify my weak areas. I continued using my journal after my daughter was born to ensure that I was getting adequate nutrition for nursing while losing those pregnancy pounds at a reasonable and healthy pace. Soon, many of my friends began requesting copies of my journal thus THE FAT TRACKER® was born!
After the birth of my son, I began to have a difficult time losing the baby weight and started to feel very tired and fatigued. So I picked up THE FAT TRACKER® again to see if I could identify the problem. After several visits to the doctor, I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Thyroiditis and thyroid cancer. My entire thyroid needed to be removed. Unfortunately, part of the treatment is to starve your body of the hormones produced by your thyroid and in the 8 weeks following the surgery, I had gained nearly 30 pounds! The radiation treatment and the thyroid hormone deprivation left me zapped of energy, and it took about 3 months to get the hormone replacement therapy adjusted properly. By then, another 10 pounds were added to my hips. Desperate to get my body back in shape, I found, once again, that THE FAT TRACKER® was an invaluable tool in helping reach my goals on paper! I am now back to running 4 miles, lifting weights, and dropping that weight. It's a littler slower this time, but the goal is in sight! I know that if I can do it! You can too!

I find The Fat Tracker to be very useful in my endeavor to keep track of all of the calories I consume on a daily basis. The fast food listings in the calorie and fat list at the back of the book are extremely helpful when I eat out. The check list for the basic food groups helps me plan what I eat daily. I really like the convenient purse size.

After only using the Fat Tracker for one week, I have already lost 5 pounds! It is very easy to use, and it has been exactly what I've needed to stay on track.
