5.0 out of 5 stars True Love or Just Plain Crazy~4.5
Fatal Desire is my third read by this amazing literary voice and to date, it is my second favorite. Second to In My Sister's Corner~

I ejoyed the interaction between the friends, Maxine, Tillie, Jamaica, and Randy. Their friendship was very realistic, and the author gave them all true to life voices in their dialogue throughout this entertaining novel...

Fatal Desire is my third read by this amazing literary voice and to date, it is my second favorite. Second to In My Sister's Corner~

I ejoyed the interaction between the friends, Maxine, Tillie, Jamaica, and Randy. Their friendship was very realistic, and the author gave them all true to life voices in their dialogue throughout this entertaining novel.

The love between Derek and Jamaica was breathtaking and nothing short of amazing. I would love to know more about Maxine's story because she seemed to be the most troubled of the characters. I'd love to find out more about her and it would be interesting to know if she ever got it together and found a man she could hold on to.

I understand the author has something coming out in 2009 and I can hardly wait to get my hands on it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Realist vs. Dreamweavers, April 10, 2007
This review is from: Fatal Desire (Paperback)
As an avid reader (ofcourse, when the time permits) as well as a huge fan of Jessica Tilles work, I was a little disappointed in this novel. The beginning was very hard to digest in the form of reality, especially the friendship that seemed to have formed throughout an unexplained course of time. I also felt the characters were given attributes that were not conceivable for their role nor understandable. Other than that I felt the novel gave enough motivation to seek the point of storyline yet the desire to complete the book was at a vey low.

4.0 out of 5 stars (RAW Rating: 3.5) - Looking for Mr. Right, February 10, 2007

This review is from: Fatal Desire (Paperback)
In FATAL DESIRE, Jessica Tilles introduces us to three girlfriends in search of a man. Unsatisfied and lonely, Jamaica tries a local radio program aimed at setting up would-be lovers and meets a wonderful man. Tillie becomes infatuated with the trio's male friend, Randy, and fortunately for her, it turns into a relationship. Maxine, the third and final part of this trio, has struck out in an online relationship that has left her a little on edge when it comes to love.

It appears that things begin to work out for both Jamaica and Tillie in the relationship department, until it's revealed that Jamaica's new man may not be so perfect after all. However, not being able to see past her own troubles, leaves Maxine sort of on the fringes and very unhappy so she tries anything possible to make them as miserable as she is until an online acquaintance appears in person to come correct with her. But like some self destructive force, Maxine's happiness only lasts for a minute before she is back to causing them havoc as Jamaica seems to be in for the fight of her life.

FATAL DESIRE was thick with drama, action, love and healthy doses of sex. The storyline was a good one; however, it developed rather slowly and unevenly. I would've loved to have more background early on for some of the characters to fully enjoy and understand some of their antics. Ms. Tilles does pose some interesting questions and answers to that age old problem of looking for Mr. Right.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fatal Desire is a Fatal Disaster!, October 22, 2006
This review is from: Fatal Desire (Paperback)
Fatal Desire is not the best work of Jessica's Tilles. It was just....... boring!!! and filled with meaningless sex scenes to compentate for the lack of a excellent storyline that I know she can give! I found myself skipping right over these pages trying to get into a story that wasn't developed throughly in the first place. I believe I was on page 80 before something exciting happened because up until that point I didn't know what the hell this "story" would develope into.

I've read all her books and have never been disappointed until now. She is an excellent author. I just feel like with all artist or authors you have some good works and you have some bad. If this is the first book you've read of her's and you share my same opinion of it don't let it stop you from reading her other work prior to this. They are EXCELLENT!!!! JT, I hope the next one makes up for this. I know you even know this wasn't your best but you tried!

This review is from: Fatal Desire (Paperback)
There's not a whole lot that I can say about Jessica, except, "when is the next book coming out". Everything that I have read by Jessica has been action packed from beginning to end. I have nothing but praise and glory for Jessica's WILD imagination. I have loved everything that she has written so far. I look forward to the next novel.I recommend you to all of my family, friends, and clients. Keep writing and we will keep reading.
