Editorial Reviews

Vinyl LP pressing. Undisputed masters of the crossover genre, Richmond, Virginia's Municipal Waste return for their fifth full-length album in their endless quest to bring the fury, bring the laughs and bring the party to obscene new lows. Their hell-bent quest for infectious riffs and never-ending headbanging sessions has finally led them to Nuclear Blast for a debut party-on-disc that won't soon be forgotten. Tasked with the noble aim of spreading the shred, The Fatal Feast is a more complete album than ever before. More bang, more intensity and a rounder sound make this not only the perfect party record, but also a natural fit for their epically ridiculous live shows.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrash is Back May 8, 2012
Format:Audio CD
Since the release of "The Art Of Partying" I have followed this band. It's refreshing to see new bands emerge in this day and age who proudly carry the torch for old-school thrash. If you have already heard this band then you will not be let down by this album. For those of you who havn't, here is what you need to know.

If you love bands such as: Suicidal Tendencies, D.R.I., S.O.D. and early Exodus, then you will love this band. It's old school thrash played well. There is no filler or lengthy melodic guitar solos. Just straight up thrash with a really nice punk rock influence.

5.0 out of 5 stars "THE REAL DEAL THRASH" January 2, 2014
By EVLROB
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
MUNICIPAL WASTE HAS A UNIQUE STYLE ALL OF THEIR OWN! THEY PLAY THRASH MUSIC MIXED WITH CHAOTIC FUN AND DEBAUCHERY. THE RESULT IS A BAND THAT PLAYS FAST, HAS FULL OF ENERGY AND SOME COOL THRASH GROOVES. THEY SOUND LIKE A CROSS BETWEEN EARLY ANTHRAX AND NUCLEAR ASSAULT, BUT WITH HINTS OF THAT OLD SCHOOL PUNK/HARDCORE SOUND FROM THE 80'S LIKE BANDS D.R.I. OR SUICIDAL TENDENCIES. ALL IN ALL; THEY'RE A FUN BAND THAT SOUND ALIVE AND SOMEWHAT HUMOROUS.....AND THEY BRING THE THRASH TOO!!! IT'S RAW, UNFILTERED, RELENTLESS, AND "THAT'S THE WAY IT SHOULD BE".

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrash at it's finest December 15, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
My first 'waste' album I've ever heard. I had to buy it. It's completely amazing. Fatal Feast, Repossession, Covered in Sick, You're Cut Off, Jesus Freaks are the best songs. My all time favorite is New Dead Masters. Holy Hell that song rules! Youtube it or something. See if you agree, if you do then buy this album. You won't be sorry. For me that is 6/16 favorite songs. the rest are ok but the 6 are the best. Not a bad ratio for me. Also I was fortunate to hear about:
Iron Reagan : Vocals-Foresta of Waste
BAT : Vocals/Bass - Ryan Waste of Waste, Felix Griffin (orig. DRI drummer), and some other dude on guitar.
You'll love Fatal Feast and Iron Reagan's 'Worse than Dead'. BAT is awesome too. They only have about 5 or so demo songs out but are making an album. Can't wait to hear it all.

4.0 out of 5 stars A "feast" of ferocious thrash September 5, 2013
Format:Audio CD
Although it might not exactly be a strictly unique thing anymore (what with the formation of bands like Lamb Of God, Demiricous, et al), it is always nice to hear a bona-fide, 100% pure thrash metal release, even if it is an overt throwback to the genre's pioneers (Slayer, anyone?). And that is why Municipal Waste are here. They are a band with some definite crust punk and hardcore influence, and also have some undeniable grindcore tendencies sprinkled into their musical arrangements (mostly thanks to world-renowned grind skinsman Dave Witte); but they are first-and-foremost a pure, unadulterated thrash/speed metal outfit. So, overall, they can perhaps be best described as punk-inflected thrash metal with grinding blasts, a GWAR-style sense of humor, and some hardcore-derived vocal patterns and attitude. As such, M.W., and the Virginian-collective's fifth album, 2012's "Fatal Feast," falls somewhere between Slayer, Kreator, Metallica, Stormtroopers Of Death, Discharge, D.R.I., and Pig Destroyer.

The album begins with "Waste In Space," a spooky and foreboding, synth-laden instrumental intro, and a very decent lead-in/introductory track, but ultimately one that could have been scrapped from the record. But do not let this little hint of melody fool you, because once the track winds to a close, and the succeeding "Repossession" begins, you know it's on! And sure enough, it is a blazing onslaught of blistering, biting, buzzsaw thrash riffing, Anthrax-ian vocals, tightly pounding and precise thrash beats, and unorthodox soloing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another wonderful disc August 1, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Verified Purchase
Just another wonderful disc from Municipal Waste. Each album is getting better and better. Infectious grooves, Tony's awesome vocal delivery and a nod to simpler times in both thrash and punk. What are you waiting for? And, if you have the chance see these guys live...they put on a terrific show!
