1.0 out of 5 stars A feminist-minded thriller descends into ho-hum romance
FG started out interesting -- a unique, feminist protagonist whom Frase portrays with surprsing sympathy and insight. Too bad she gradually transforms into a bland, romance-genre heroine with no backbone. The Kasey at the beginning would have hated the Kasey at the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY EXCITING!!, July 15, 2011
This review is from: Fatal Gift (Mass Market Paperback)
Some co-workers of mine purchased this book several years ago and read it aloud during their lunch hour. They would make comments that they couldn't wait until lunch time the following day to be able to read more, as the book kept them on the edge. After listening to them for several days, I ordered the book, and I could not put it down! The author's incredible imagination keeps the mystery going all the way to the end of the book, making it extremely unpredictable, which is crucial for a good mystery!! Great book -- highly recommend it. I am now reading Michael Frase's The Last Goodbye, which has been fantastic so far!

I have not found an author in 15 years as compelling and crafty as H. Michael Frase.
I highly recommend everything he writes and has written!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites, June 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fatal Gift (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book many years ago and it was so good I passed it around to all my friends and family. I didn't get the book back so I looked on Amazon for a copy. There was no Kindle version available so I bought the paperback so I can read it again. It really is a great read and I would recommend it to anyone who likes suspense. I hope I still think it's as good as I did then but I know that everyone else who read it felt the same way I did and couldn't put it down. So enjoy readers. You won't be disappointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, June 13, 2002

This review is from: Fatal Gift (Mass Market Paperback)
I liked this book, but I thought it was a little too long. There wasn't a lot of suspense or excitement in the middle of the story. However, I did like the characters and the plot. I would buy another book by this author.

H. Michael Frase is a gifted author. This book had me hooked from beginning to end. If you like mystery, murder and romance this is the book for you. The characters jump off the page and make you care what happens to them. This is one of the most spellbinding first novels I've ever read. I look forward to this authors future books.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "cannot-put-down" book with suspense and warmth., August 20, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Fatal Gift (Hardcover)
Very rarely do you find a book that you truly cannot put down. I am the senior librarian in our town library (a very small town), so our book budget is limited. I have recommended this book to everyone whose interests lie in mystery, and each patron comes back with the same comment, "IT WAS TERRIFIC. Thank you for recommending it". Even on the very last page, you are not only surprised by the ending, but moved as well. If you haven't read this one, you're missing out on a treat

5.0 out of 5 stars A real page turner that will leave a heart print!, June 14, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Fatal Gift (Hardcover)
Action packed all the way to the unexpected ending. Michael's ability to draw you into the story makes it seem as though you are watching a movie. He makes it easy for you to visualize everything that's happening without using page filling unimportant descriptions. That is talent! He is also a great people person. He has done two book signings at my request and his interaction with the readers is awesome. That's what makes him special. Is was a pleasure visiting with him and his wife Anita and I'm looking forward to his next novel. Sincerely, Debbie Stanford Wal*Mart Stores Inc.
