5.0 out of 5 stars First book a success
This being the authors first book she really knew how to keep the suspense building. Nothing was given away too soon. Tracy B. Evans keeps the plot twists coming in this exciting new thriller. I am not one to give the story away all I will say is this mystery thriller will have you on the edge of your seat turning pages as fast as can be!

1.0 out of 5 stars Poorly written and edited
This book was pretty much one of the worst I've read of its kind. Since it was all I had with me on a 4 hour airplane ride, I managed to get to the end, although I skipped pages of pointless drivel at a time.

This book was pretty much one of the worst I've read of its kind. Since it was all I had with me on a 4 hour airplane ride, I managed to get to the end, although I skipped pages of pointless drivel at a time.

The story started out as promising, but from the first page I found the writing style hamhanded and awkward. There were glaring editorial mistakes like "She was on the right tract," as just one example. A lot of attention was paid to rather pointless detail, and the characters were cartoonish stereotypes in many instances. The denouement was at once predictable and utterly inconsistent with what was presented earlier in the story. Too cute for its own good.

There are other decent books in this genre. I'd skip this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-read for mystery fans!, May 12, 2008

This review is from: Fatal Kidnapping (Paperback)
If you think Fatal Kidnapping is just another run-of-the-mill "woman in distress" novel, you would be so wrong! Katie Stone's father, Jed, and her fiance Caleb are frantic when they realize she is missing- thus begins the tragic tale that takes us along on Katie's journey toward self redemption that she's been seeking since childhood.
Ms. Evans somehow gets into the mind of Katie as a young girl, tracing her life until the kidnapping occurs and follows this trend all through the book until the surprise ending that will knock your socks off! No fair peeking at the last few pages now, you don't want to spoil it for yourself! A must-read for all mystery fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars New Author Hits 'The Mark", May 6, 2008
This review is from: Fatal Kidnapping (Paperback)
Fatal Kidnapping is an easy read in that your desire to find out 'who dunnit' keeps you from putting the book down. The characters are realistic and the ending unexpected. Whether you are a long time fan of mysteries or just beginning to enjoy this genre, this book is one you'll enjoy.

What would you do if someone you loved was kidnapped and not heard from for 3 days? A father and a fiance's worst nightmare...
Katie Stone, beautiful girl, about to be married to Caleb, is kidnapped while she was going to the store to get lipstick - Searches are organized to find her - She is finally found in near a shed of condemned property. Her story is a terrifying one - as she tells the Sheriff the story of her kidnapping, and the actions she is forced to do, Sheriff Day begins to doubt her words....What really went on with this young lady?
So begins a character study filled with terrifying details, feints, and mystery. The end is a hold your breath ending...
Excellent story, excellent plotting.
Will be interested in further works from Ms. Evans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fatal Kidnapping, October 29, 2007
This review is from: Fatal Kidnapping (Paperback)
Submitted to Tracy B. Evans by Debra Carr.

Fatal Kidnapping, the first published book by this author, has it all. Love, Hate, Murder, Suspicions, Romance and Forever After. I have to admit that I thought it had a slow beginning, but with a unique twist at the end - who remembers the beginning. For anyone who enjoys books written in the third person, this book is a must read.

Upon reading the first chapter I asked myself, "Is this a joke?" Yes, it's that bad! I'm 43 and I've been reading my whole life but I've never read a book this awful. Let me say it again, "I have never read a book this bad in my entire life...Ever!" It reminded me of the Dick and Jane books when I was in grade school. The writing childish and the editing is awful and filled with mistakes. I paid over [...] with shipping and it was a complete waste of money and time. I've learned my lesson, From now on I will not buy a book without reading it's reviews, although the positive ones must be from friends and family as they are very misleading. Allyson

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful!, April 9, 2010

I don't see how anyone could have given this book any kind of positive review. Those 4-star reviews must be from her friends and family. This is the worst book I have ever started to read. I read three or four pages and had to put it down. Absolutely awful! The writing is atrocious! What a waste of my money!

What would you do if a loved one is missing?
Katie Stone has always thought someone has been following her...then when she should have gotten with her fiance for the evening, she never shows.
Caleb, her fiance, and her father, Jeb, initiate a grand scale search. Then a miracle happens - they find Katie alive! But Katie has a story to tell and she wants to tell it to the sheriff - seems the man she accuses of kidnapping her has been dead for years...
Ms. Evans has a talent for telling a story, and wanting to keep reading to see how this is all possible. I look forward to more from her.
Fatal Kidnapping is an excellent read and debut.
