Move over Tom Clancy and make room for Trevor Scott,
By A Customer
This review is from: Fatal Network (Jake Adams International Thriller Series #1) (Paperback)
Jake Adams is well on his way to becoming the next American hero. He's smart, mysterious and witty. If you like reading Tom Clancy's books, you'll love this first in a series of techno thrillers featuring Jake Adams. The book should appeal to many people since it includes thrills, espionage and even romance. Jake Adams takes you on an adventure through Germany, Italy and other European locations in search of a missing American tech rep. As the former CIA agent unravels the mystery, it becomes more complex. Just when you think you have the mystery solved, the plot takes surprising twists. I'm looking forward to the next Jake Adams adventure.

That's a thriller!,

This is a real thriller from start to finish. I loved the characters, the settings, and the concept of these high-tech computer chips. The book also deals with the negative aspects of a burgeoning bureaucracy. Highly recommended.

Holy Cow, can this dude write? You bet! I first heard this book in abridged audio driving through Kansas. Kept me awake all night. Might have saved my life. So, I get home and go to my local book store to find the actual book. Not there. That's a true shame. So, I buy it online at my favorite store (guess which one:). The written book is even better than the audio. Now I've gone back and purchased his entire list. He's better than Grisham, Sandford, Clancy, and that Dan Brown guy any day of the week. He's like a young Jack Higgins. Buy this book! Ya gotta do it...

As a former college English professor, I was pleasantly surprised to find a thriller that a woman could read that was both literate and exciting. The pacing is like making love--it can go from a gentle kiss to frenetic climax. At this price I plan on picking up all of Trevor Scott's books. Highly recommended!

This was the first book of Trevor Scott's that I read and I really enjoyed it. I thought the plot was very good - with surprises in it - and Jake Adams was a fun, and interesting character. The story moved very well - from one venue to another - and kept me reading and not wanting to put it down.
I just bought a second book of his - with Jake Adams as the main character - and I am really enjoying it.

I liked this storyline but would have liked more character develop for Jake. there were so many players until I almost got lost but the author tied it all together quite neatly toward the end. There seemed to be a lot of missed opportunities in the book where the character could have been more defined but overall I like the book and it was a good read.

This is my first time for this author and I'm pleased. I've read all of James Patterson's books and was looking for a new author when I happened to meet Trevor Scott in my dentist's office in Portland Oregon (he was writing while he waited for his appointment). I ordered a couple of his books to see if I liked his writing style. He builds good suspense, has some fun, keeps you guessing and I learned a lot about aircraft carriers. I'd recommend this book.

I'm hooked! Jake Adams is a true badass and the writing style reminds me a lot of Jack Higgins, one of my favorite authors. One of my friends is into Trevor Scott's books and turned me on to him, I just happened to luck out that it recently was reduced to 99 cents! Now I whipped through Fatal Network and have to buy the rest of this series. I guess that's why it's 99 cents...Well, it worked Mr. Scott. You win. I'll buy your other books. I guess I'm not even mad about it.

Too Many Exclamation Points!!!,

This was an interesting book but after awhile I noticed that there were way TOO MANY exclamation points in it. Almost every time a character answers with just one word, there's an exclamation point that is totally inappropriate to
the plot. For instance there was one in the book: ("Yes!", she said serenely.) Why would a serene answer contain an exclamation point? It wouldn't. I don't know who, or if any one proof-reads these books, but they should be more watchful. I do like the author and have already ordered more titles on my Kindle. |
