5.0 out of 5 stars Yoga, surfing, and murder on the California coast
Yipe! Forget the peaceful ideas you have about yoga students when you read this mystery. I know it's kind of a fad in America these days, but mix up the ancient art with good old-fashioned greed, jealosy, lust, California sun, a colorful locale, and the local surf scene, and you've got a fun book. Nick and Sarah Worther are active retirees who've moved to the coast to...

This review is from: Fatal Stretch: A Nick and Sarah Mystery (Nick and Sarah Mysteries) (Paperback)
Yipe! Forget the peaceful ideas you have about yoga students when you read this mystery. I know it's kind of a fad in America these days, but mix up the ancient art with good old-fashioned greed, jealosy, lust, California sun, a colorful locale, and the local surf scene, and you've got a fun book. Nick and Sarah Worther are active retirees who've moved to the coast to finally relax, but get inadvertantly involved in a murderous scheme when a fellow student at a yoga retreat in Hawaii is killed while in an extreme yoga pose and their friend, the yoga instructor, becomes nervous and withdrawn. Back home near Santa Cruz on the beautiful Monterey Bay, they're soon joined by a wannabe hitman and his sexy, ambitious girlfriend. She wants to film a surfing video, while he wants to begin a murderous resume--and the yoga instructor is his first target.
The author writes in a fast-paced style, mixing conversation and action to keep the plot churning. As a result, I had a hard time putting it down, and think anyone who enjoys an involving read will also like this book. Whenever a book holds my interest and attention like Fatal Stretch, I recommend it to friends, so dig in and have fun! Also, if you practice yoga or know someone who does, don't miss it--but only if you have a healthy sense of humor about your practice.
