This review is from: Fatal Tradeoffs: Public and Private Responsibilities for Risk (Paperback)
Professor Viscusi is, in the best of academic traditions, a keenly independent thinker who is also a do-er. I do not expect to ever understand the mathematics. Nevertheless, his ability to explicate and summarize --in plain English-- complex, sophisticated concepts about risk, how we evaluate it, and how we perceive it has made me an ardent admirer. Young economists / policy-makers, please take note: He is at Vanderbilt and would be an original and rigorous collaborator/mentor.
