Poor product quality does not justify the price,

I have had the lime-green fatboy hammock for one year now. It is outside on the patio, but under a roof. The steel tube stand didn't look too great when it was brand new, now it is rust covered and looks pretty ugly. The crude stitching of the hammock's segments looks cheap, unprofessional - like it was made by a person without experience with a commercial sewing machine.
The 'stain resistant' fabric works well indoors (where I had it for 2 months), outdoors it requires frequent cleaning. The fill material (padding) which makes the hammock appear 'upholstered' looks nice when new, after one year (of light use!) it looks like it is not attached to the fabric (as in, e.g. a quilted blanket), so you see lumps and bumps at some places, and no padding at others. I expected a lot more from this product. After one year it's ready for the trash, at 400$ that means it costs me more than 30$ a month: I wouldn't buy it again :-(

Good if you live in the desert,

I purchased the Heddemock Hammock and the set up was easy, hmmock was comfortable. so far so good... until it rained. About 4 DAYS after it rained, I went to sit on the hammock and got soaking wet. I called the company to see if maybe I received a defective product as it is labeled water resistant and I was told, get this, the hammock is water resistant, but THE STITCHING IS NOT, SO I SHOULD BRING IT INSIDE IF IT RAINS. I swear this was the response. Needless to say I don't want to have to check the weather report to see if my hammock needs to come inside. I have better things to do. Avoid this product unless you live, where it doesn't rain or plan on using it inside

Rest and rust,
By
This review is from: FatboyHeaddemock, Turquoise (Lawn & Patio)
The headdemock itself is a nice place to rest. Unfortunately it is hampered by a lot of rust in my case only in the middle part, so it looks like a manufacturing error. Customer service tells me the model was discontinued 4 years ago. However, I bought it new one or two summers ago, and now I see it is still sold. So also a big minus for customer service.Update: I received a new stand from customer service. It is black now and probably different material as the original silver stand, which is fine by me. So make sure if you buy one the stand is a recent one. It is expensive enpugh. I upped the review to three stars, and if it had been like this in the first place, it would be four stars.

still drying,

I was gifted the hammock after wanting one for years. It was left outside in mild weather and it was time to bring it in, but I wanted to make sure it was totally dry before packing it away in the provided case. It has been in our house now for 5 days, elevated on a tile floor with radiant heat, and it is still leaking water from the seams. Every time I think it is dry and lift it up, water starts dripping from somewhere. Considering the size of the hammock, the indoor drying thing is very impractical and setting it up and putting it away for each use is a drag. I would seriously recommend thinking about the commitment (which is not clear based on advertising) vs. the cost and practicality of other types of hammock.

We saw this hammock in Europe, but it was too bulky to bring back. So glad to find it on amazon! It's big, and solid, and very comfy, we've used it daily since receiving it. Very cool hammock, for a better price than it was in Europe!

I bought a Fatboy hammock and it was the best purchase I have made recently. It is so easy to assemble. The hammock is sturdy but I can move it around without assistance. The hammock is so comfortable that I think I am going to use it instead of my bed :)

Fatboy Lime Green,

placed delivery on 14th May arrived by Shipping Carrier: Interlink, Ship Date: May 19, 2011 - Shipping Speed: Standard.
It came on 20th so not to bad. Box had hole in it at the bottom. Actual hammock had slight marks on it, made in china by the way! lol Managed to rub the marks of by 75%f with fairy liquid soapy water. The pole for holding 1 side of the hammock didn't connect with a round silver pop out bit into the hole properly, but don't think it matters unless someone try pull it up. The 2 black bags which come with it, have handles and big red fatboy logo. The logo is nice, the colour is lime green - quite bright colour - i like it. Anyway the black bags were marked with dirt in different places and there was a slight tear in the bag that contains the poles. Overall i can't be bothered to try and return it! lol - and it is safe to use. I wouldn't think it is best to leave outside when it rains, certantly not the hammock itself. Pricy should be £99.99 not £299, anyway if you want a hammock, got some cash or credit card to spread the cost - i'd go for it. What product do you know which actually comes 100% new, there is always something slightly wrong with stuff. Evan Nasa can't make mistakes. Many colours to choose from, so pick wisely. Max weight 150 Kg, Max height from ground says 1 / 30cm, Lots space to lie down, certanly can have 2 adults on it at 150Kg total weight, or maybe a few kids. See you tube for video's... I paid £300 & £2.99 shipping from BODIE and FOU T/a WhereDidYouBuyThat.com, below are some funny & interesting video's on the fatboy hammock. [...] Lets hope it won't rust the pole, but i will bring it in everytime rain is due for long periods. Very easy to unstall, take 2 minutes, need 2 people really to move around & unhock - fold et. but possible to do by self (slower) so bringing it in & putting it out will only take 2 minutes. Nice bags to fold up and store somewhere, when want pop it out or evan take it to the beach or someone else's house. I give it 4/5. looking forward to hot summer days & nice evenings. Little blankett, and you could sleep in the garden tonight. Or evan have it in your house. lol

If you're going to buy a hammock, don't go cheap and wuss out. Buy a Fatboy... you won't be dissapointed. It's truly a superb quality product. The stand is even heavy duty. I saw the Fatboy at a garden center so I knew the quality of the fabric and materials were great, but after ordering, I realized I never looked at the stand. I wasn't dissapointed. So, step up to the plate, the economy's not that bad,if you're even thinking about spending four hundo on a hammock like I did you won't be sorry. I can watch the stock prices drop and hear Obama printing more money as we speak right from the comfort of my Fatboy.
