Fate Succumbs is an engrossing, fast-paced, cleverly tied-up finale to a wonderful trilogy. In fact, it's my favorite book of the three. After receiving the book as an e-arc, I thought I'd take a wee nose at it before I started work for the day. Well... that wee nose turned into me devouring the entire book in hours. As we catch up with Scout and Liam after his rescue of her in book two, we journey into a road-trip with a destination like no other - Scout's life-altering fight for a new order among the shifters and seers. Without giving anything away, I'll say as always Scout's hilarious wit had me laughing out loud. As funny as the narrative is, I also found my eyes blurring with tears a number of times. Tammy Blackwell has a gift for writing credible, funny, poignant and truly authentic dialogue. With amazing dialogue on top of an intelligent and action-packed plot, sizzling chemistry between our awesome heroine and a certain shifter, and the promise of a spin-off series (yay!), Fate Succumbs delivers a finale that more than lives up to its brilliant predecessors.

I have to tell you that this book far exceeded my expectations. Fate Succumbs picks up where Time Mends leaves off and continues to twist and turn all the way up to its spectacular ending.

Now I must admit that while I wanted to shove Jase off the nearest cliff at the end of TM, he redeemed himself in FS. I was so relieved by that, you have no idea. Meanwhile, I found myself growing increasingly frustrated with Liam and his stoic demeanor and his standoffish attitude, however, I couldn't stop myself from falling even more in love with the brooding wolf. Especially after he shares his story with Scout. Moreover, I must admit that it still hurt me deeply to read about Alex, but I will tell you that letting him go was a very powerful experience. I laughed and I cried and I enjoyed this book all the way up to the final battle. You'll love it too!

In closing, I would just like to tell you to do yourself a favor and buy this book, and after you've finished it, read all three books again. Recommend the entire trilogy to your friend, family, people at work, random people in the mall, cats, dogs... You get the idea. Just read this book and love it as much as you did the first two, maybe more. Great job, Tammy! Can't wait for your next endeavor!

Well! I wasn't totally satisfied. Scout and Liam spend most of the book traveling, spending a lot of time together and doing mundane things. Along the way Scout learn more about what, who, and how things came to be, but even that felt...slugish. When the end came it was very quick and too easy, I was expecting a better fighting scene since it was a big moment. It wasn't bad at all but because I loooved the first two, I just expected more.

***Spoilers***
Though I understand this relationship, I just didn't buy into it. This should have been they "bonding" time but I didn't feel their connection. It didn't feel natural and not because of Alex but I think More chemistry, more attachement, more of something was needed. They were good for each other but...for some reasons I just didn't...it was almost forced?!

I am a huge fan of this series, it has been one of my faves so far and I've read the first two books multiple times. This 3rd install however has left me a little disappointed. Another review stated it was kind of slow compared to the others and someone else mentioned the ending battle being over rather quickly and I have to agree. We've been hearing about the battle between Scout and Sarvarna since book 1 and it turned out to be very vague and not exciting at all in my opinion; I would have enjoyed a little more action between the two.

Without giving away too many details, her relationship in this book didn't seem to have the spark that she had with Alex so it made it difficult to accept they were supposed to be soul mates - again just my opinion. There could be a number of factors that plays into the disconnect but I can't go into that without explaining who I am talking about and I don't want to ruin that for someone who hasn't read the book yet. Ultimately, the relationship just felt like something was lacking to me.

Overall, the book was ok but it wasn't as great as the first two. I would still recommend this book just to get the answers to the many questions you had from the previous. Plus there are a couple lines in there that will have you laughing out loud and I can appreciate that.

Like many reviewers, I am a fan of book 1 and 2 in the series. But this third book left me a little disappointed.

It just seemed like some non-essential parts were dragged out (roadtrip) but other seemingly more focal bits were rushed over - like the end.

The relationships didn't feel right either. The characters and their interactions in the first two books felt so 'real' and great but that depth appeared to be lacking in this book.

I would still recommend it to anyone who has read the series so far.

And it's getting four starts because I enjoy the author's writing and will check out what she does next.

(I wouldn't mind a book that had Charlie as a main character?)
