Fate’s Marionettes is a sweeping historical novel, encompassing the World War II era to the beginnings of the Vietnam conflict. The shifting action takes place in Finland, the Soviet Union’’s Gulags, Israel and the United States. It is the ongoing story of two men and their families: Heinrich Hartstein, survivor of the Nazi death camp, Treblinka and Karl Linsdorff, Aryan son of a famed judge who has perished in the concentration camp, Dachau, as a result of his anti-Hitler writings. The novel details how the two friends are buffeted by an unrelenting fate that threatens to destroy them.
