Heavily disagreeing,

I'm not much for writing reviews. I don't think I'm all that good at telling why I like music, just that I like it. But I needed to write to disagree with "A music fan" who says that the instrumental music on this album is "kind of boring." Wow, do I find that to completely clash with my opinion. Alan Silvestri is one of the most talented composers I have ever come across, with the gift to write some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. Father of the Bride is no exception to this. Maybe Alan doesn't sing and it may be slow, but it is so gorgeous. The problem that bored-with-this people have is that they just don't like to sit and listen to simply beautiful music. The movie may not be a blockbuster hit, but this score is 5 stars, being memorable and just plain awesome.

Classic!,

When I listen to this CD I can just picture what is happening in the movie. From the beginning to the end. Alan Silvestri is a great composer, and Steve Tyrell should definetly be commended for his contributions on both soundtracks!

It's Okay but didn't totally interest me!,
This review is from: Father Of The Bride Part II (Audio CD)
Well I really liked the movie Father Of The Bride II but I don't totally enjoy the soundtrack, I like the songs Give Me The Simple Life, The Way You Look Tonight, At Last, When The Saints Go Marching In, and On The Sunny Side Of The Street, but the instrumental music though good just didn't interest me. Now I do love instrumental music, I have heard music by Alan Silvestri that I have really liked and I love Classical music which is my favorite types of music and I like, Opera, Windham Hill, etc, but I just didn't happen to care for some of the instrumental music on this soundtrack and wish there were more songs like Give Me the Simple Life, etc.

Very enjoyable CD that brings back the best moments of a fine funny movie. At first listen, me & my wife were picking out the scenes of the movie: this is when Anne comes to the door at night...this is when Frank...At times the music gets a little corny, (not Lawrence Welk type of corny), but hey, isn't life a little corny every so often? The main highlight is the fantastic singing of Steve Tyrell, a multi talented cross over Tom Watts meets Dr John with Frank Sanatra overtones...In fact I am going to buy a few Steve Tyrell CD's after this & give them a spin...reviews to follow. Steve sings up front, full volume with the right emotion behind the song. Good songs while doing house chores or light entrainment background music with friends. The down side: the CD is a little short in time & lacks what could be fun back up information.

Soothing, Soulful Soundtrack,

Oh, how I love "Give Me The Simple Life." In today's world, this is the music that you can come home to, prop your feet up, and kick back to sounds that remind one of the simple, pleasurable things of life. There is nothing harsh or mockish; only sweet, easy tunes to make anyone smile. Steve Tyrell has great talent, and his work on both of the "Father Of The Bride" films is to be commended.

Re-Creating The Mood Of The Film,

The strength of "Father of the Bride II" is its ability to seamlessly blend humorous moments with touching, emotional drama/themes. This CD soundtrack will help you remember those moments long after you view the film. Whether it be the touching "Just The Way You Look Tonight" (played when George Banks remembers his daughter), "When The Saints Come Marching In" (Banks gets his house back), or "On The Sunny Side Of The Street" (perfectly sums up Banks' new-found attitude at the end of the film), these songs will have you in tears...whether from laughing or crying.
