About the Author

Myama Myowne was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She works as a freelance writer/artist and is employed in social services. She has worked extensively with young people - many whom are living in single-parent (often fatherless) homes. Her favorite opportunities to work with youth have been in after-school and summer recreation programs, summer camps, schools, and in poetry workshops. She enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews and hopes to open a creative arts program for youth in the near future. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

This is a faith based, autobiographical piece of work, I believe it to be a painful journey for the author, though something that she felt that she needed to do. It is the truth as seen through her eyes. It is fairly well written. The reader can feel the author's emotion as she was writing it yet she was able to restrain her anger while expressing her feelings. A good read for anyone, though I'd especially recommend it for children who were raised or are currently growing up without their father's in their lives.
