And Father Makes Three (Premiere) (Silhouette Special Edition, No 990), May 2, 2006
This review is from: And Father Makes Three (Premiere) (Silhouette Special Edition) (Paperback)
ISBN 0373099908 - A small step above the usual romance drivel, And Father Makes Three isn't going to kill you to read. There were a couple odd things - Nate Ryan is referred to as Ryan throughout, which would be fine in guys-punching-each-other-in-the-shoulder-and-bonding-over-a-beer story. In a romance, it just seems weird. On page 224, Jesse refers to his grandparents as "Sarah's parents" (Sarah is his aunt). I'm picky, though, and I'm sure other people would overlook these things.
Sarah Corcoran is raising her nephew, Jesse, son of town tramp Adele, Sarah's twin sister, who has been dead for 6 years when Ryan returns to Gilroy, where he spent a short part of one summer, on his way to work. Ryan's a photographer whose life fell apart a couple years ago and this story is his big chance to make a comeback. He takes Jesse on as an assistant and Sarah only agrees when he offers her a position as a researcher. The three of them travel Route 66 and along the way discover that Ryan is Jesse's father... and he's in love with Sarah.
Not the worst thing I've read, far from the best. The ending is one of the few small surprises in the book; kinda cute.
