From Library Journal
Frank Church was a U.S. Senator for 24 years (1957-81), served as chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, and was a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1976. Diag nosed with terminal cancer at the age of 23, he lived for 35 years before suc cumbing to the disease in 1984. His son is minister of All Soul's Unitarian Church in New York City. Father and Son is a combined biographical memoir of the father and autobiography of the son. The work is for the most part touchingly and poignantly rendered, with an expression of the son's reli gious values in the sections dealing with his own theological studies and his ac ceptance of his father's death. Alto gether, a very human document in terms of both its historical aspect and its inspirational message. Recommend ed. Scott Wright, History Dept., Coll. of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minn.
