Fathers to Daughters,
By Dr. Elizabeth J. Deis (Hampden-Sydney, Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fathers to Daughters: The Legal Foundations of Female Emancipation (Contributions in Legal Studies) (Hardcover)
This book is a solid standard resource for anyone doing research in women's history or in nineteenth-century studies. It is a rather dry, but very well-researched and informative history of the development of the Married Women's Property Acts in the U.S. The work's title is a bit misleading; otherwise, it is a very useful text that provides a lengthy bibliography of other relevant sources, as well.
