From Library Journal
When private investigator Hannah Wolfe accepts an assignment to chaperone 15-year-old Mattie Shephard for a day, she never expects to encounter a deadly scheme involving a drug company, animal rights activists, and pigs. A tough, determined woman with courage to match her intelligence, Hannah plunges into a series of dangerous adventures as she attempts to discover who is behind a brutal car bombing. The fast-moving and witty story raises questions about animal rights, homosexuality, and big business as it comments on contemporary British life. Fatlands adapts well to the audio format, and listeners will appreciate its entertaining and thought-provoking story line. The production quality is excellent, and reader Haydn Gwynne speaks with an engaging British accent and a warm, intimate tone. Gwynne conveys Hannah's slightly caustic yet warm-hearted personality with convincing realism. Highly recommended.
