5.0 out of 5 stars the dogs. they mock me!! ..you have your awake cap on.
i was trying to think of a quote to title this with, but i just cannot find one since this movie is chock full of em. so i put two. this movie is hilarious. every character is strong and classic in my book. the quirky couple, the bitter mother, bridgett, the scientist who is alone against a monstrous disease because nobody else gets it, the guy who gets ripped off after...

1.0 out of 5 stars what is going on here?!?
hopefully, the third time is the charm because every one star review i write for this movie gets taken down by amazon! this is one of the worst indie movies i've ever seen. the fact that it has so many 5 star ratings only proves that Fatty Drives the Bus is incorrectly rated and reviewed... probably by those associated with the film.

don't buy this awful...

i was trying to think of a quote to title this with, but i just cannot find one since this movie is chock full of em. so i put two. this movie is hilarious. every character is strong and classic in my book. the quirky couple, the bitter mother, bridgett, the scientist who is alone against a monstrous disease because nobody else gets it, the guy who gets ripped off after he tells his friend "not to get ripped off", the two that fall in love, and the couple who are ignorant tourists are all done in such a great way, that this movie earns a top spot in my collection. i also sense a great romantic feel when i watch this movie. i mean the whole "big city..boy meets girl...weird artsy people...etc etc"...although i really think the opening credits are a bit lengthy, but it is worth it to view them. anyways, i highly recommend this film. i mean c'mon! its a nice day, were in the city, im beautiful!!

5.0 out of 5 stars an unlikely modern classic, June 28, 2004
I admit my expectations weren't very high when i first watched this film,, but I was completely blown away. The directing and acting are gleefully amateurish, but it made me remember something important: sometimes, watching a movie should be fun.

First, we meet Satan, the formidable foe of mankind complete with horns and stretchpants. He wants to kill a tour bus full of innocent people. Their deaths were originally cancelled because Jesus happened to be in Chicago as well. Satan puts in a personal appearance by entering a Willa Wonka-like transformation machine, emerging as an amiable tour guide named Roger.

If it all sounds a bit wacky, that's because it is. We meet all the characters next, who all tend to be likeably quirky (especially the "weird couple" and the "glamourous" drag queen). Satan, in disguise as the tour guide, runs around getting people to sign away their souls while showing all the important landmarks in Chicago, like Wrigley Field and the scene of the St. Valentine's Day massacre.

Will Jesus save the tour bus, or will they all go to Hell? Would pressing that one button blast them all off into outer space? Where does Fatty stand in all of this? All this and a particularly rediculous ending in Fatty Drives the Bus.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a funny movie, February 19, 2001
A hilarious movie from Troma. It is about Satan who transforms him self into a busdriver so that he can get tourists to give him their souls. This movie is very funny. A great Troma release. If you like Troma, the Toxic Avenger, and Class of Nuke Em' High you will love this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mom & Dementia, September 21, 2000
My mother has a mild case of dementia. She does not have Alzheimer's or anything like that. I was watching this movie on my 60 incher, and the actor Ken (last name?) was doing his thing, and my mom sat down to watch. She had just started taking the medication Aricept, for her memory problems, because she was having trouble remembering certain words. This is not the same thing as aphasia, but she has that too. She asked me to start the movie over, and she watched it from start to finish. Now whenever she sees something that she likes on TV, she holds up the "Fatty..." slip case (she uses it to let us know if she likes something...I bought a copy for her for last Mother's Day) and gives us a big thumbs up ala Roger Ebert and Dippy Doper.

5.0 out of 5 stars fatty drives the bus in chicago and dies, fat i mean dies, April 22, 2002
By
This movie rules! Its about a "cheapass" bus tour of the great city of Chicago. But this is not just any tour, Satan is the tour guide!!!!! There are a lot of funny people in this movie, but my favorite has to be the beautiful and glamorous woman Bridget! The people in this movie are/were members of Chicago's Annoyance Improv-Theater. These guys are great. If your in to Troma then you need to see this movie!

I took classes from Mick Napier and have watched him perform countless times and can say, undeniably, that he is Mick Napier. Yes, I've met lots of people, and none of them were Mick Napier. Then I met Mick Napier, and I knew Mick Napier. Alot of my friends know Mick Napier, then I knew him, maybe someday you can go to the Second City, or Annoyance, or Improv Olympic theaters and then you'll know him too. I know Mick Napier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Funniest movie since Caligula, April 20, 2000
By A Customer
This movie is absolutely amazing. It all takes place in a day but seems like four years. The acting is superb, especially the geek doctor with the dogs, who reminds me of Dennis Franz in his prime. He must be the best actor in Chicago. The script and direction are top notch. This Napier guy is a real auteur. Genius. This film is funnier than Schindler's List.
