5.0 out of 5 stars Get the XL extra long version
We did get the XL's and we really like them because the extra length supports our legs all the way down to the foot. We've had these a couple years now. These are expensive, but the frame is very strong, the cushion and cushion support seems just right (I'm 200 lbs.), and the fabric is very comfortable. Other chairs we tried just didn't seem to have the right "action"...

3.0 out of 5 stars Well Made But Quickly Faded
We purchased two XL Faulkner Recliners about 6 months ago. We could not decide between padded and mesh so we got one of each, both in dark green colors. The stitching is good, the fabric is strong, and the frames are of fine quality. But the padded dark green chair faded to a light blue within two months of being outdoors. The durability in the dye that was used on an outdoor product is unsatisfactory. The mesh chair still looks great. Both are very comfortable.
One reviewer suggested buying the XL chairs, even if you are not big. We followed his advice. While we have not tried the regular sized chairs, neither of us are big either. I find the XL chairs difficult to recline, because my feet don't reach the foot bar, and they need to in order to change the chair's position. I feel very silly, like a little child trying to operate an adult's reclining chair. My estimate is that you would not like the XL sizing so much unless your inseam is greater than 32". I wish we had bought the standard-sized units and saved $20 each.

These are expensive, but the frame is very strong, the cushion and cushion support seems just right (I'm 200 lbs.), and the fabric is very comfortable. Other chairs we tried just didn't seem to have the right "action" or comfort for us, but these are great for us. They allow us to sit or recline in any posture and to change position with hardly a thought. Very good.

The Faulkner recliner is the best of several we have explored. We're well satisfied with the product quality and features.

This is a nice chair. It was listed as a special sale price, but, one week after buying, I saw it for thirty dollars less in a catalog with free shipping. So, buy the chair, but, look around unless money is no issue.

2.0 out of 5 stars No good with bare feet, May 8, 2009
This review is from: Faulkner XL Recliner Forest Green Padded with Padded Arms (Lawn & Patio)
The chair itself is reasonably comfortable but the foot rest bar is in the way when getting in or out of the chair and is hard on bare feet. When the chair is reclined the foot rest bar is uncomfortable unless wearing shoes. I have had to end up using a separate footstool.
Also the instructions say that the straps supporting the seat and back are not under warranty and should be replaced every two years! Thre is no mention as to how to obtain the new straps. I feel this information should be included in the product description. I would not buy another one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for tall people, April 19, 2009
This review is from: Faulkner XL Recliner Forest Green Padded with Padded Arms (Lawn & Patio)
Got 2 of them, but unfortunately had to return them. Still too short for a guy of 6.3'. The fabric doesn't go down far enough, i.e. there is no support for the lower leg/heel. In other words not comfortable unless you're willing to put a cushion over the lower bar, which is a hazzle.
