5.0 out of 5 stars Life saver for a herniated back problem
This chair is a life saver for me. I have a herniated disk in my lower back, and this is the only place where I can find a position that is not agony. 2.0 out of 5 stars Fabric color fades fast!
I wasn't aware the cushions were made from fabric cloth when I purchased this chair, so I was surprised when I uncrated the box, but I hoped it was at least weather-resistant, something akin to the 'Sunbrella' fabrics. Not so. After only two weeks in the southern California sun, it's starting to look gray and blotchy. It's certainly very comfortable, so it depends if you...

5.0 out of 5 stars Life saver for a herniated back problem, April 23, 2010

This chair is a life saver for me. I have a herniated disk in my lower back, and this is the only place where I can find a position that is not agony. I have been sleeping in it as well as spending period 5-10 minutes stints to decompress the spine during the day. These short sessions allow me a few minutes where I can sit somewhere else or walk a short distance to get something.

A friend loaned it to me but I am planning buy one of my own as soon as I am better.

Note I am 5'2" and this chair is easy for me to operate. I think the people who had trouble operating it did not do the following: When you want to recline you need to lightly push up on the lower bar with your feet and with your back on the back of the chair. When you want to get up you need to lightly push with your calves on the canvas and not push with your back on the back of the chair. The chair is basically a lever :-)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great chair, July 8, 2009

This is the most comfortable lounger ever! It does have the feel of a hammock, but it is more practical and fits anywhere. The reason why I am giving it 4 stars is the breaks...no issues yet, but they seem less powerful than when brand new...then again, maybe it is just me getting used to them. All things considered, fabulous buy.

I bought this chair for my husband's birthday, but we both love it and he has to share it until I get one for myself. It was the perfect birthday gift.

I bought the Faulkner Standard Recliner chair about a month ago and have really enjoyed it. I'm using it as an indoor chair and often use it for afternoon naps and watching TV.

Initially I thought the chair might be too fragile to support my weight (240lbs) but it has proven more than strong enough.

Faulkner is a reputable company with a website that lists many retail sellers offering their products. They also have many parts available for separate purchase.

In addition, the price makes this chair a great buy (less than 100$). I hope to purchase another one to use outside for the summer months.

It's certainly very comfortable, so it depends if you care about appearance, but as far as we're concerned, bad purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Zero Gravity chair, September 4, 2009

After searching for a zero gravity chair for my father and letting him sit in more than ten chairs at various stores, we got sick of looking. So, I found this one on Amazon and it had good reviews so we ordered it. It was a better price than any other one we saw and it is much better quality and more comfortable. My father loves it and I'm very glad we purchased it.

I bought these for my parents. They absolutely love these chairs. They have used other brands at other people's houses and always come back and comment how much they like the ones that they have so much better. I might just have to buy a pair for my husband and I. Highly recommend these chairs!

2.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, faded, & dries VERY slowly!, March 31, 2011
By
This review is from: Faulkner Standard Recliner Black Padded with Padded Arms (Lawn & Patio)
This chair is pretty comfortable. I'm 5'7 1/2" and it fits me perfectly. My husband is 6'1 and doesn't like it. He feels cramped.

As others have stated, this chair will fade. A lot. I got it for Christmas, and it's already faded to a medium grey in the 3 months that I've had it.

This isn't a design flaw, but I don't like that I can't lay on my stomach on it & read. It's ONLY for sitting and reclining.

The thing that I REALLY don't like about it the most is that the fabric dries very very slowly. For example, it hasn't rained here for at LEAST 5 days. It's been very sunny out. Yesterday, it was around 75. Today, there is blazing sun and it's 90+ degrees. I just went out and sat in it, and my butt got SOAKED. I wouldn't buy this again.

I'm going to go to Lowes and pick up one of their cheap white resin chairs (that you can lay on your stomach on) and pick up some sunbrella cushions for it. I'll probably end up using that more, because at least I can take off the cushions if they're still wet.

2.0 out of 5 stars Highly disappointed, March 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Faulkner Standard Recliner Black Padded with Padded Arms (Lawn & Patio)
Reclined arrived yesterday in good condition. I have lower back pain and recently sat in a zero-gravity recliner. I was hoping this was the same, but this chair will NOT recline far enough to give pain relief like the expensive (inhouse) recliners. I was hoping this recliner would allow some relief until such time as I could purchase the more expensive (true zero-gravity) recliner.

Now for this chair. Sits OK and fairly comfortable padding, but this is a narrow chair and not for well portioned people. The back, seat, and leg cushions are comfortable as long as you stay in a straight position. If you are a person who sits/reclines with one leg crossed, you will find the chair frame in unpadded and uncomfortable. Also, for me, the chair arms are too low and the padding on the elbow end of the chair arm lacks enough padding to be comfortable. For someone lounging by the pool or in the sun, this chair design would be great, but for trying to read or just relax in the chair, many areas of the chair needs more padding. For anyone who has sit in a real zero-gravity chair, you will find that this recliner falls way short. If this recliner would recline another two inches or more, would be great and a true zero-gravity chair. Unless you are a slender person, you will fell confined.

I do not like giving bad reviews of products, but I felt this was necessary. I read the reviews before purchasing and from those reviews, this chair sounded like what I was looking for in a recliner. If this recliner had in fact reclined to a zero-gravity position, I would have given a good review and found a way to pad the areas that are uncomfortable to me. I know many others in my condition that will try almost anything for relief, but this recliner will NOT give it to you, so save your money.

4.0 out of 5 stars Relaxing, July 22, 2010
By

The minute this package arrived in the mail I opened it, stretched it out & sat down and told my husband that it may just become household furniture (JOKE). AHHHHHHHH yes was my feeling at the moment. Exactly what I was looking for. The adjustable pillow really makes it. My only complaint is that the velcro for the pillow may not last but I can rig something up to make it work forever. I can't wait to go camping, sit down, recline & check out the stars in comfort! Bought the attachable tray & a sun shade which is removable to go with it.
