5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best gospel rap cds you'll ever hear, February 13, 2004
This review is from: The Fault Is History (Audio CD)
The Fault Is History by the Souljahz is a refreshing contrast to modern day gospel rap. While too many rappers rap about nothing and throw the words Lord, Jesus or God in at least one verse, Souljahz only focus is Christ. They tackle social issues like poverty, teenage pregnancy and racism with a christian view and offer much more than just great beats. Their music is without a doubt classic and you should go and get this cd as soon as poossible.

You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fault is History makes History!, August 20, 2002

Five Stars!! And the rating is not inflated Souljahz earned every one of them. Jacob, Joshua and Racheal deliver a solid release, with their latin infused Hip-hop. But is doesn't stop there. Their vocals shine on several ballads, my favorites being "Reflection", and "True love Waits". You won't find cliche' rap, or boring beats at all. The entire CD is fresh and has the beats to nod your head to in your car with the windows down. "Fault is History" tackles subjects likes racism, poverty, and the power of God. All of the content is relevant and laced with a tight track. This record is unbelieveable in its scope and production. Credit to Tonex and Souljahz for the incredible production. Buy this CD, from the first track you'll be impressed and from there on you'll discover a new gem with each song.

I can't get enough of this CD. It is defintely one of my favorites. I love every song but especially track #12 and #13. These are songs with bangin' beats and powerful lyrics..songs you can sing around your mom without being ashamed and share with your friends without fear of being labeled "corny". I can't wait 'til their next one!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Groovin, February 21, 2003
This review is from: The Fault Is History (Audio CD)
First off, I got a sampler cd with the song "Let Go" on it. I fell in love with it. The beats were incredible, and I just had a great time jammin to their music. I love the words too, "You got your problems, you got your, you got your issues... you gotta let 'em go-o" HAHA, great song!

Anyway, so I asked for the cd for christmas and I got it! I love almost every track on this cd. The only one I don't really get into is jubilee. I don't know why, it kind of annoys me I guess with how repetative it is.

I love the songs "Let Go", "All Around the World", "Reflection", "Poor Man", "WORSHIP" (My favorite on the cd I think), and "Keep Risin". Ha, I think I just named over half the songs on the cd.

Really, this cd is worth buying. Especially if your into hip-hop, rap, and just really urban sounds. My parents love this, my younger brother loves it, my cousin (who lives in the ghetto) loves it. It's just one of those bands everyone has a fun time jamming to. You can tell their heart is set on God too. Their ready to preach.

5.0 out of 5 stars souljahz--the fault is history, September 4, 2002
This review is from: The Fault Is History (Audio CD)
Souljahz has broken through to the average listener with this release. The Fault is History is a great mix of hip-hop, R&B, urban pop, it even fuses some rock influences. The music on this cd is sound and is great to listen to over and over again. The songs themselves take on issues that are common to the average listener, but take a positive perspective on many issues, where most bands would choose to be discouraging. Souljahz takes on racism, drug abuse, and other issues and chooses to encourage listeners to overcome these very real problems. Souljahz has put together a cd worth hearing.

It's been 4 long years since their debut album, and that album was hitting! Now this two blood brothers and sister group bring their sophomore offering which is far from a disappointment. This album is nothing less the awesome! In a music industry filled with artists spitting garbage and corrupting young minds Souljahz new album is breathe of fresh air. The albums first single on the air is the track "All Around the World" which is a laid back song speaking about unity worldwide. The group displays how multi talented they are by not only rapping, but by singing, and a couple poems that introduce the subject matter of the following songs. The social conciseness of this group is a rare gem among young people in this generation. The album tackles issues such as Racism (The Color Hate, Reflection, Beneath the Surface), Poverty (Poor Man), Pre-marital Sex (True Love Waits), and Spirituality. The album is guaranteed to succeed with the outstanding production of Souljahz and the infamous Nureau hit maker T-Boy (Gibraan, Tonex, Unity Klan, 4th Elemynt, etc). The albums pop/hip-hop sound makes it radio friendly, and its lyrics make fans of any style of music appreciate it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Off the Chain, August 6, 2005

This cd is awesome. I love the diversity in their music and their ability to rhyme and sing and throw in some poetry. They remind me of THe Fugess or Black Eyed Peas.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great buy, January 24, 2005

After hearing the song "All around the world" on a sampler CD i asked for a CD by souljahz (i mistakinaly thought it was pronouced like soul-jazz, when it's really like souldiers) for christmas, and was glad i did, i could go one praising them, but doing so would just be reptetive of the other reviews out there, which you can read, and i completely agree with. there is only 1 reason i give this 4 stars and not 5. I am not minority of any kind, and because of that i can't really know discrimination, a theme this album touches on repeatedly. This feels kinda...awkward. like i don't deserve to be listening to this, i haven't gone through what they have, and hence i almost feel like an outsider listening to some of these songs. I'm still glad i got the CD, and would reocmend whoever reads this to buy it, i just want to give a heads up. Still, go out and buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Awesome!, January 12, 2005
This review is from: The Fault Is History (Audio CD)
I can remember reading about them from a BMG music order sheet. You know how they suggest other groups that sound like a more popular group. I remember saying to myself how I would like to hear them. Well last summer I was at a garage sell and behold there they were, still in wrapper. I purchased it and immediately unwrapped and slid it into the CD player. WOW! Just Awesome! I jammed to that all day long, and it is now one of my favorite CDs. The lyrics are so on, and their conviction rings through clearly, not to mention their incredible vocals. No doubt in my mind that the next CD would not be a find on my part but deliberate act.
