Until recently, I'd have agreed with all the positive reviews I see posted here. Sometime in the past year, however, Bon Ami revised their formulation and changed the labelling to add the phrases "Earth Friendly" and "Better Cleaning Experience".

I'm not sure about the first claim, but beg to differ with the second, for two reasons.

Formerly, the product had no odor that I could discern. Now, it has a chemical odor and irritates my respiratory system.

The original product did an excellent job of polishing stainless steel items in my kitchen, including the removal of water stains from a stainless steel dishdrainer tray. With the new product, I cannot remove those stains.

I bought this item for $10.56 (which is way overpriced) thinking that it was more than just one can of Bon Ami powder. The description was very vague and looking at all the other prices on Amazon I thought it was inconceivable that someone would sell this item for that price. Lo and behold, my shipment came in and I have just the one can for 10 bucks. I've never paid this much for this item before. There are several other versions of this item for $3.00 and less here on Amazon and I picked the most expensive one like a dummy.

Unfortunately for me, there is no return policy to this vendor (why am I not surprised). Don't get fooled like me. If you see this item, know you're only getting one can for $10.56. Look for the cheaper option and choose that for shipment.

I remember my Grandmother using this stuff! I recently switched to greener, biodegradable cleaners due to being on a septic & shallow well. I have used it for cleaning toilets, countertops, sinks, you name it. The BEST results on my Le Creuset enameled cookware (don't waste your money on their $11 cleaner!) and makes stainless cookware sparkle like new. Rejuvenated the enameled steel top of my vintage farm table, it's so white now! Cleans the oven window & stove. Great for the tub & sink, even the toilet, gets the rust stains off from our hard well water. Best part is it has no bleach or harsh chemicals to throw off the delicate balance of our septic. Rinses easier than Comet or Ajax, no bleach and even though it's hard to believe, it DOES NOT SCRATCH! Can you beat it for the price???? NO WAY!

I have used Bon Ami for many years after we had a new bath tub installed and the installer told us to use Bon Ami because it is not harsh.
It is very hard to find in our area at the different stores, so once again I went to Amazon and there it was.

I have used this product on my vehicles windshield for years, even thought it states not for glass, as it is a great cleaner and will not scratch the windshield. My wife used it on our farmhouse sink and found it was the only cleanser to to do the job.

If you want to actually clean something try Bar Keepers Friend. In comparison, Bon Ami seems to do... nothing. I won't purchase it again.

I work with babies, and I think it is extremely important for parents to use "green" cleaning products when possible to avoid accidents. This product replaces the abrasive and toxic sink scouring powders. For extra cleaning power, I use it with Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds. I highly recommend this product on my on-line guide for parents, and have personally used it the last few years.

This arrived with an "old school" looking label, different than my previous can of bon ami cleanser. But I think it is the exact same stuff. Works great. Hard to find. Thanks.

This is the only product the manufacturer of my kitchen sinks will recommend. Although, I am still having problems with hard water build-up, this product will not harm the sheen on my sinks.

Bon Ami honor its name, good friends never let you down. This product was recommended to me years ago by a gentle old lady, after watching me getting sick of all the fumes and poisons that other cleaners put into my system. I tied Bon Ami, and since then I will never use another product to clean my house. It is the best and it does not need a bunch of TV commercials because by word of mouth this product has beaten the past of time.
