5.0 out of 5 stars BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD!
This product is really hard to find in the stores and I don't know why. I guess nobody does their own ironing anymore. 3.0 out of 5 stars Iron Cleaner
It didn't work as well as I'd hoped and takes a lot of rubbing to get the buildup off the sole plate but it did work without scratching.

This product is really hard to find in the stores and I don't know why. I guess nobody does their own ironing anymore. Always before, if your iron got dirty, which they do sometimes in the middle of ironing, you had to stop ironing, cool down the iron, clean it, iron a rag to make sure all the gunk was out and heat up the iron again. With this hot iron cleaner, You grab an old towel, squirt a little on it, and iron. The dirt comes right off on the towel, and you can go back to ironing. Love this stuff!

This stuff works so well and so easily, you'd think there must be a catch!

It cleans all kinds of burned-on stuff from sole plates, and using a cotton swab, even cleans steam holes.

It takes a little elbow grease, and you have to take care not to get burned (it only works on a hot iron), but there are no fumes and no mess, and it really works -- even on Teflon or coated sole plates!

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Awesome Stuff, February 16, 2008

This stuff is great. I prefer to squeeze a little of it onto a towel and just clean the spot that is dirty instead of using the whole little tube and trying to clean the whole soleplate by ironing on a treated towel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well worth it!, April 13, 2011

I recently purchased an expensive top of the line Rowenta iron. Once in the hands of teenage boys, the soleplate had gunk on it. Not sure what it was but it didn't come off with a wet cloth. I was hesitant to use anything other than the iron brand cleaner. After reading other reviews, I went for it. I am so glad I didn't spend the money on the other, because this worked excellent. Actually, amazingly well. My husband was aware of my dismay after finding my new iron so messed up that I had to show him how effortlessly and beautiful this product helped my iron. The glide was back to brand new. 4 stars because the pictured size is deceiving, even reading the ounces, I expected more product. If shipping costs are an issue, be wise and order more than one.

I previously purchased iron cleaner that was name branded by the same manufacturer as my iron, because I figured that would be the best. It was almost 3x the cost of this product. I figured I'd give this product a try since it was so much less expensive, and it does a fantastic job. I'll keep buying this brand instead.

My iron was a mess since I had never cleaned it (you can no longer find this in local stores). I have tried several other alternative suggestions with no success. I found this on Amazon, and, 3 tubes later, my iron looks like new!! Get several tubes or you will regret it. I will be keeping some on hand for future use!!LOVE IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's like Magic!, October 17, 2009
This review is from: Faultless Starch 40110 Faultless Hot Iron Cleaner (Kitchen)
I favor the Rowenta irons and had a bad spot on the plate of my iron. I tried everything, goo remover, wax, soap, whatever, and consequently, ended making a worse mess.

However, this stuff is like magic! It worked excellent! You heat the iron to the highest setting. Spread some of the cleaner on a towel. Take the hot iron and iron the cleaner that is on the towel. The gunk comes off onto the towel.

It cleans beautiful, I could not believe it. ......Rizzo

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for exhaust pipes and headers, August 18, 2011

This review is from: Faultless Starch 40110 Faultless Hot Iron Cleaner (Kitchen)
Yes, I know this product is meant for cleaning irons but this is the only stuff that works in cleaning my motorcycle exhaust pipes. You see, I made a dumb mistake by deciding to take a microfiber cloth to wipe off dirt on my motorcycle exhaust pipe while it was still hot. Well, I've come to find out that microfiber melts like plastic and it left a baked-on stain that I could not get out by using about a dozen different cleaners (goo-gone, grill cleaner, and various automotive products). The dealer suggested taking a buffer to it. So I go to my folks house to borrow the buffer from dad but after about 30 minutes of continuous buffing, I had to stop because the buffer started rattling and the stain was still there mocking me.

This is where momma comes in. After watching me toil over the stain, she recommended this iron cleaner. After the initial chuckle, I tried it, and wouldn't you know it, mom was right! I was in disbelief. The baked-on carbon stain came right out just by rubbing on it with a CLOTH towel. The best part about it was that it DID NOT DAMAGE THE CHROME FINISH! I was so impressed, I took it to my car which also had baked-on stains on the exhaust tip from when I ran over a plastic bag years before. BOOM! Stain gone! I was out of control at this point. I went digging into the shed to grab that crusty old BBQ grill, but alas, I ran out of iron cleaner. This tube only holds 1 ounce of cleaner, which is plenty for cleaning an iron, but if you've got bigger fish to fry, grab a couple extra tubes.

I can't express enough how happy I am that the ugly stain is gone from my new bike, I felt that I needed to tell the whole world about it. Thank you Amazon for carrying this hard-to-find product. Also, thanks mom, after all these years, I'm still learning from you. And dad, sorry I broke the buffer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't throw away your starch ladened Iron !!!!, May 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

All you need is an old towel.
Heat your Iron up to COTTON or LINEN.
Apply a copious amount of cleaner for a really dirty iron.
Run hot iron over towel with Flawless cleaner on it.
Rub long and hard. Be persistent.
It will probably require a second run for a very starch encruted iron.
It's worth it!!!! Iron plate is like new!!!!
I've only tested Teflon and Stainless Steel Irons.
Very Highly Recommended!!!!!

I rarely iron any more, but my husband uses our expensive Rowenta nearly every day to touch up his shirt for work. When I needed to iron recently I was horrified at how much gunk was on it! I found this product at Amazon and I'm so glad I gave it a try. It's awesome!! It literally took about two minutes to use and now our iron is as good as new!. It was so easy that maybe my husband will use it right away the next time he melts something on the soleplate. I'm back here to order more tubes because I don't ever want to be caught without this stuff. Great product Faultless!
