I happened upon Roy Zimmerman's videos on YouTube, and then hurried to get
this CD as soon as I could. This is a high energy, humorous scorching of Bushworld, done in fine musical style and with twisting, rhyming words which leave me exclaiming alternatively, get down! and oh, no! And here I thought that the satirical spirit of Tom Lehrer no longer moved among us (except when John McCuthcheon and Charlie King are so moved.) Highly recommended. Offer this singer a house concert in your town so you can hear him in person. He gives me a much needed lift, in a world which seems hard to satirize, because our leaders are into do-it-yourself satire (but of course don't know it.)

...but more currently relevant, of course, and with a guitar in lieu of a piano. Brilliant! Even a hardcore conservative might crack a smile when listening to "My Conservative Girlfriend" - a love song dedicated to none other than Ann Coulter.
I saw Roy perform live at the Nightingale Theater in Tulsa, Oklahoma a couple of months ago. Until that night, I had never heard of him. So thank you, Tulsa Atheists Society, for bringing him here because I laughed so hard I had tears streaming down my face.
I bought this album on the spot because he didn't perform my favorite song that night, which is the one about the war on terror. He is also very gracious in person. I can't wait to own all his albums!

I hope Roy has a new release soon. I want to hear his take on Tea Partiers..He is Extremely talented, smart and FUNNY !!!!
