Love these books for ADULTS who love to color for relaxing.!,

I got my first dover coloring book about 30 years ago and have been hooked. I now have a collection of about 20. They are kind of hard to find in retail and when you do the selection is poor.
I find coloring to be very relaxing when you are stressed. I also cannot just watch tv I like to be doing crochet or cross stitching, coloring. These books are very well done as far as the drawings are concerned. They can be very intricate. Some are made more for children but many would be hard for a child under say 10yrs old to do and feel good about. They are best done with colored pencils as you can get really good at shading and make them really pretty. I highly recommend this and many others. I do own this specific book.

Although this book has lots of breeds, it doesn't have a lot of the really popular breeds you'll find today. The book was published in the early 80's and it seems the "Favorite Dogs" then, are not necessarily the same as now. My son was a little disappointed there was no pug (that's what we have).

My daughter loved this coloring book, it kept her distracted while we were at a number of resturants while we were out of town visiting familiy. I like these coloring books because adults can enjoy them as well, and it is more enjoyable to interact with these kinds of coloring books for many adults. This one in particular, her aunts and uncles read her the dog descriptions and told her about the dogs, everyone discussed the breeds and what they like, experiences with diff. breeds etc. These coloring books always catch adult's attention, and they themselves look like they want to do a bit of coloring! Although my husband's family loves dogs, and we watched the American Kennel Club dog show on thanksgiving, I think most people would like this coloring book. Cool and educational.
