The list author says: "Music plays a vital part in filmmaking. A great film score can enhance a film in a variety of ways, such as adding tension or excitement, reinforcing themes and motifs, defining certain characters and creating memorable montages. There are many iconic film scores, some of which are instantly recognizable (try humming the Jaws theme in front of anybody) while others are more obscure but just as amazing.
These are some of my personal favorite film scores that blew me away.
"Ennio Morricone's legendary score. While all the films in the Dollars Trilogy have superb scores, TGTBATU takes the cake. The title track has been used more times than I can remember, while "The Ecstasy of Gold" is absolutely amazing."
"Probably one of the most epic scores in existence. John Williams is at his best when composing for Spielberg and Lucas. Even with the retarded prequels, this is one of the greatest scores ever composed. I still get goosebumps when I hear it."
"As you can probably tell by now, I'm a huge John Williams fan and this is one of his best. I'm a tad biased because Jurassic Park is one of my Top 5 films, but the score is tremendously epic and suits the wonder & awe of the film perfectly."
"I've been digging Steve Jablonsky since his amazing score for Transformers, and this one continues his killer score-streak. It perfectly homages the sword & fantasy epics of the 80's and has moments of brilliance that complement the film while also allowing it to stand alone as just pure, unabashed aural awesomeness!"
