From the back cover:
There are no winners and losers...when it comes to true romance! Colleen Delaney would never forget the night she and Eric Nelson went from law school sparring partners to lovers. Now, after years apart, the irresistible attorney was back in her life in a major way as they went head-to-head in a high-stakes case. With the future of the Taka-Hanson hotel empire at stake, Eric couldn't afford to lose. But he was up against a gorgeous, take-no-prisoners lawyer just as determined to win. If only their attraction would stop getting in the way. That was when Eric decided to give Colleen a special gift for the holidays--one that came straight from the heart. And my review: I really enjoyed this book and will be keeping it to read again. This story had everything I look for: great sexual tension (without being lust-soaked), witty sparring (not bickering), an interesting plot, and great characters. Lovers getting a second chance is also a favorite theme of mine, and this one was well done. I liked that while the hero and heroine had their arguments, for the most part, they were able to get along. This wasn't one of those, "I hate you, come here" books you find so often in romance. I liked watching the heroine learn to overcome the fears and hangups that had come from her painful childhood to find her happy ending. I had just one minor gripe. This was marketed as a Christmas romance, but apart from one mention of a Christmas tree and a text message that mentions Santa, Christmas doesn't get mentioned at all. I like Christmas stories that have a special touch of holiday magic in them, and this one didn't have it. Don't expect this book to put you in a Christmas mood. Other than that, though, it was a wonderful read.
