You won't find a bigger fan of Gaither music than I am. I love the new songs of today, but there is something special about the old hymns. The highlight of this album is Glen Payne and Guy Penrod singing "The Haven of Rest". This is probably a 6 star album in my opinion!!!

This CD is a compliation of most of the hymns found on the Homecoming CD's and videos. There's a sweet spirit moving when Larry Ford and Guy Penrod sing "I Will Sing of My Redeemer", and the entire group singing "Majesty" and "Sitting at the Feet of Jesus". Well worth the investment!

To start out any "Homecoming" collection, this one is a must have. It was recorded in 1991 as a new album for the Gaither Vocal Band. Bill wanted to have some of his heroes come and record with them on the old gospel song "Where Would I Go?" A first of its kind video was also made. Since then, dozens of CDs and videos and sold out concert tours have followed. I recommened this and any of the Bill Gaither "Homecoming" titles for southern gospel fans everywhere.

One of the best Gaither CD's I've listened to. Recommended especially if you like slow, spirit-filled ballad type music

The "Gaither Gospel Series - Favorite Hymns" is a CD often listened to with my Mom before she passed away. I had hers; however, during my last move from Fla. to Ohio, the CD was damaged. Purchasing a duplicate through Amazon was a breeze and reasonably priced. Love getting all my CD's and movies through Amazon!

Isaiah 61:3
provide for those who grieve in Zion - to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of priase instead of a spirit of despair. (depression)

When we sing praises, it lifts our spirit and conquers the depression that tries to keep us captive.

This is an average recording all around, but it is worth it to hear Guy Penrod on "I will sing of My Redeemer."

We just love this group, they are like family to us, their songs of praise are just so beautiful to listen to. Added this one to my collection.

products were in great condition, and had been packed so that they arrived that way. The customer service listened to my concerns and responded after a while and was helpful in letting me know where my products were and when they might arrive.

The CD was great had all the songs on them that I love to hear and have been listening to them even now on 2014 they never get too old.
I love too the gathering of the other Christian singers getting together to sing along and glorify God. It is all that it is about when we all get into that worship mode where we are happy to sing about the Lord and lend our voices to the songs.
These are songs I can sing along with when I am cooking, songs that are timeless and worth keeping.
I have so many older CD's that just give me a sense of peace when I listen to them.
I am so glad I got them when I did and that I can now share them with my grand kids as well.

I have a huge collection of Gaither music and can tell you it's the very best and my collection grew with this CD. I do not have a single CD from the Gathiers that I don't love and play over and over. It's uplifting to see all the talent singing the song I grew up hearing. God bless the entire troup of singers. I've never seen so much talent at one time on a stage. My hat is off to Bill and Glory for creating something that will live forever and be appreciated by so many. Thank you so much.
