it takes you through the process of making pickles and relishes. the basic dills and bread and butter pickles. if you like dills only and need a rcipe this is the book to get. other canning books show more and intense recipes for pickles an relishes

For anyone who wishes to take a stab at making pickles to see what this level of homemade is all about, this pub is a great place to begin. The recipes are easy and concise. The author, Andrea Chesman, includes a brief but informative forward detailing a little background, equipment needed and pickling tips, which also includes several troubleshooting points. A good, brief, inexpensive addition to anyone's cookbook library.
